What's wrong with MX Linux??? Oh, that's right, it doesn't use systemd.

Kde devlopers says that kde neon is not a real distribution so should I use kde neon as my daily use os ?? I don't like manjaro because it is based on arch

I was running this for a bit- and LOVED it-- BUT-- it has TELEGRAM opening up INSIDE FIREFOX-- and I hate that-- adn i could not figure out how to separate the two-- or replace one or the other-- they were appimages and LOCKED or something- I couldnt even change the permissions wwith chmod or anything. You have any suggestions for separating the TELEGRAM FROM FIREFOX???

I realy enjoy manjaro kde plasma but i don't like pacman. If you want to use your linux for software developing you will more likely have issues finding libraries you need. With ubuntu or debian the chances are much higher, that everything works just fine.
That is the reason why i don't use manjaro anymore. Unfortunately, i realy liked it.
But netrunner looks very interesting, i think i will give it a try. Thanks for it :)

500 G RAM at Idle? How would that work if I only have 16 G RAM to work with? Maybe you meant 500MB? Surely, no Linux distro requires a $4,000 desktop to run on?

What is kde plasma (I'm thinking to shifting to linux , mint actually people say it's good . So does mint also has kde ? ) ? Also what's the difference between desktop environment and distros

KDE is not only better than Gnome, you can't even compare them. KDE looks better than any desktop on the market.

when i install any linux distro on my laptop, in few how hours or days later my laptop goes freezing , it sucks my life..... My laptop spec: HP Elitebook 840 G3, 8 GB RAM, 256 SSD

KDE Neon is currently my desktop os. One bad thing that I have experienced with all linux distros I tried is the freezes that are caused by kernel updates. This is something really annoying and disappointing. Moreover, KDE in general should consider getting rid of kde wallet, this demon that keeps creating problems to mail software and so on... Another thing I came across only in KDE distros are the cursor freezes after dual booting with Windows on the first boot of the system. I don't know if I am the only one with this problem. Anyway, I think KDE developer team should listen more to user's suggestions. This is my only complaint.

You said that opensuse is great for computer science students? How so? I am currently using Manjaro, what benefits would there be if i switched to opensuse?

As I recall, Kubuntu 9.10 was the last one to feature an efficient, intuitive GUI -- With virtually the same cpu and memory footprint as Lubuntu, but 100 times more configuration tools and more native support applications far basic computing tasks.

I dont get why so many people love Manjaro, have tried it on 2 different occassions. Both times the KDE and Gnome versions. Had constant kernel issues affecting hibernation and sleep. Also just small buggy issues with the interfece in KDE. Went back to Arco Linux. All good again.

For the last 2 weeks I have been trying out the distributions of MX, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, ElementaryOS, Zorin and Solus. It should have been Solus for sure in this video. It has great support, speed and stability. really amazing .. Please try Solus.

1. Solus (Very Stable, Very Fast, Strong Store, User Friendly)
2. Fedora (Stable, Good Dual GPU Driver Support, Fast, Strong Store)
3. ElementaryOS (Fast)
4. Ubuntu (Stable, Strong Store)
5. OpenSUSE (Unstable)
6. MX (I had driver issues)
7. Zorin (never install)

Does anyone use Mageia. It came from Mandrake way back.

my opinion best distribution forever is OpenSUSE because can use many environments with it and the second distro manjaro

Lubuntu and Kubuntu are definitely my favorites. I've been using them for years and they're very stable and run well on old laptops.

I love KDE, the only thing KDE does wrong is KDE Neon

Might have to take a serious look at Kaos, as it's not a distro I've used before. It'll also be interesting to see if I can get by with only using Qt based stuff!

I really like Manjaro KDE. I used it on a spare computer for over a year. I would not call it stable, though. Updates would cause regressions (i.e., break things) from time to time. For example, once my wi-fi stopped working. I was able to fix it by changing from a static IP address to DHCP. The worst one was after not using that computer for a couple of months and applying an update. Don’t ever do that. It completely borked to the point I could not login, nor even chroot in to fix the system. Nonetheless, it was fun to use, but I wouldn’t use it for a main production machine. Now I am playing with Arch KDE on that machine, but Arch has the same issue with regressions - it is the base for Manjaro. This time I make sure to run updates at least once a week. I have Neon Plasma installed also on a spare SSD. I don’t know why, but it just seems a little boring compared to Arch and Manjaro. Maybe I am just uses to using KDE on Arch based systems with the AUR.
