really helpful content, I was looking for some useful advices as the winter season slowly approaches in Europe. thank you !
one out-off-topic question: I realized that you also run in harsh winter conditions. Would you have a running shoe advice for winter which can protect knees and also are stable in all conditions ? I've been using Asics Kayano 30 for a while and feel very comfortable with them, however I feel like they won't be enough on tough winter days.
So i ve been trained that the knee should not go over the toes when doing these squats and lunges. Looking at your lunges I therefore cringe because you went way over. So maybe someone settles that discussion for us please. BEcause from what I learned this is counterproductive in terms of knee health.
Ответитьthe knee shouldn't overlap the foot when doing lunges...
ОтветитьNO IS NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU ARE NOT IN TOP FORM ONLY! BRAVO GÖRAN!
ОтветитьLovely video, I don't do running, I used to do climbing and now I'm not even doing that, but I was actually thinking about strengthening my knee for health reasons
ОтветитьGreat vid Göran thank you
Sadly I wanted to run ultra distances, my cardio is there but I get knee pain (outside bottom of knee) after a few miles from striking the ground.
Essentially I've had to switch to swimming & biking for now because of this and had to cut running completely.
I've been trying knee strengthening exercises for 2-3 months but every couple weeks I try a casual long run and so far my knee still flares up every time 😔
Do I just need more knee strengthening e.g. 6-12+ months total, or should I buy a certain type of shoe, or a knee band, or does anyone have any tips for how I can get from where I am now to running ultras without this damn knee pain?
Thank you to anyone for taking the time to read/reply
I want to run into the wind
Ответить🦵
ОтветитьGreat exercises - thankyou!
ОтветитьHow many times a week i should do these exercises?
Ответитьbumbaclot them exercises yuh have me done would Injury me
ОтветитьHi Göran, how safe is it to do these exercises if you have hypermobile ligaments?
We who are very flexible are very prone to injury
Is the wieght factor for having knee pain while running..or it can be solve by knee strengthining?
ОтветитьNumber 6 is impossible in the Netherlands! 😉
ОтветитьTore my ACL and got surgery about 7 months ago...I am still working on recovering my strength in my knee. Thanks so much for this video.
ОтветитьI used to experience longer recovery time after a long run but these exercises have shorten my recovery tremendously. Thank you :)
ОтветитьIf you didn't have ridiculously ripped legs, I would have clicked away. Ut oh, I hear a crunching noise with my right knee. Am I making it worse?
ОтветитьHi, I currently do weighted lunges in my workout where I put one foot forward and holding dumbells do the reps lowering down and up (in a vertical motion) keeping the knee from going further forward then the toes, before switching legs.
I see in your lunges you are stepping forward each time and your knee is going way forward of your toes.
I'm sure both variations are great, but my question is, is my variation actually bad for my knees?
Should I rather step forward each rep and fully have my knee go forward of my toes like you do instead?
thank you
ОтветитьBarefoot shoes have strengthened my knees massively
Ответить✅👊 Train Smart ❤
ОтветитьI've been trying to recover after a meniscus injury and doing these exercises after my easy runs has made a huge difference.
ОтветитьGööööööööran!
ОтветитьThanks for the great tips!!! always helpful!!!
ОтветитьHow do you think you could integrate it with a four days a week training plan? Can I do the strength program the same day I do a run?
Thanks
Giorgio
Cool gloves! 😎 Thank you, good exercise!
ОтветитьVilken rejäl crinch att höra den här engelskan 😮
ОтветитьThis is great! I have run on and off for 7 or 8 years and consistently had issues with my right knee. Just trying the first exercise I struggle so much more balancing on my right leg. This will be great to train the supportive muscles
ОтветитьWow this is great I will for sure do this!!
Thank you so much ..
Just found you and new subscriber here 😎
I struggle with dislocated knees so this is amazing, thank you!
Ответитьmy knees could never😭
ОтветитьStarted doing these in February. No knee injuries or pain since. Bloody hell! :D
ОтветитьI can't do the Second one inside, because I am always so afraid of hitting the ceiling with my head. :D
Ответить@Göran Winblad - My physiotherapist told me to do one-legged squats so that the knee is not overshooting the ankle by moving forward (bad for the knee). I can see you doing that, also in the clock exercise. What do you think about that?
ОтветитьGreat content. Subscribed.
ОтветитьShould I also do this in conjunction with the feet ankle exercises?
ОтветитьGreat exercises to get a permanent knee injury. Obviously such exercises aren't suitable for everyone
ОтветитьGreat video! I will be incorporating these into my training! Thank you 😊
ОтветитьYa'll just need to do Sissy Squats. Just that one single exercise will change your knees forever. I don't run but heck that 2 months of consistent leg training allowed me to cycle 320 kilometers, it heavily targeted my knees and it gave me the same feeling when i was doing Sissy Squats. Try it y'all, it'll work wonders.
ОтветитьIs it ok to use these exercises as post running as well?
Ответитьlook like you run in forefoot strike, and the shoe you wearing is that barefoot shoe?
ОтветитьMy knees hurt when i do more than 10 squat and it keeps hurting for couple of days till it vanish tho i am 29, any tips what to do , i thought this training will help but its more complicated exercises i am bot sire if i can do it, I don’t have any chronic issues with joints or anything and take essential vitamins omega 3 and good sun session daily, any tips ! And thanks in advance
ОтветитьThanks sir
ОтветитьYou really have to ease into this and ramp up intentionally. Most importantly on the last one that should also involve some warm up. You can really get into serious trouble with that one otherwise.
ОтветитьWill I ever be able to run after a patellar dislocation? Had my right patellar dislocation 5 months back .
Ответитьgreat vid! needed this. please make one for the hips as well!
ОтветитьWhy the knee surgery makes the knee not flexible to do full extentions ?? How much months after surgery to full recovery ??
Ответитьwalking backwards on a hill is also a good way in strengthening the knees
ОтветитьThe doctor told me that I have pain in my acl but it's not convenient for surgery. In the meantime, what exercises can I use in this video?
ОтветитьThank you for the video! I’m binge-watching all of them.
What would you do about shin splints when on a streak (experienced runner). Run through them or quit? 🙁
