DJI RS3 Mini: Real Test Footage And Review - The New Generation Of Handheld Gimbals

This is a skill; one needs to learn it.

My camera is not compatible with the Rs3 Mini's Bluetooth. My question is: with the camera connected to the gimbal via cable, can I use the app's functions on the smartphone, such as moving the gimbal and recording normally?

This looks like an interesting and good gimbal, but it's a bit much how out of your way you go to compliment this gimbal / criticize the larger DJI gimbals. The autolocks were annoying because you had to unlock them to balance the gimbal??? You have to unlock the locks on THIS gimbal too before you can balance it. The difference is you have to manually lock them on this gimbal first, whereas on the RS3 or RS3 Pro you don't have to lock them; they lock automatically by themselves. So by definition your complaint is ridiculous because it makes no sense. Don't try so hard to compliment a product. It's very shallow, fake, and people cans see through it because you end up saying something dumb.

Best review of the gimbal out there. I watched several others and they really didn't show all the features and capabilities that you were able to. You also demonstrate so well how a gimbal can be utilized that I now understand why I need one.

I don’t wanna sound like a fool but … how do you focus when using a gimbal? It’s more of a general question really. I’ll explain. When moving around and shooting, you cannot blindly use autofocus, obviously. I’ve resorted to turn off movie servo and use the touch screen to select the focal point then use the shutter button to activate focus.

Soooo, how do you focus when using a gimbal?

Do you feel its smoother than RS2? I think the rs2 should be smoother!

Here where the beauty of AI comes. ZVE1 face detection is outstanding for autofocus.

@BrandonLi can the RS3 mini support a sony a7iv and sony g master 16-35 lens setup. Or is it too front heavy for the gimble. I would like to have the rs3 mini for compactness and travel, but feel like I might have to resort to the rs2

most of the shots pretty shaky and needs stabilisation in post... to he honest i expected better performance

Please tell me you applied some type of warp stabilizer afterwards or did some major post editing to get such smooth footage while running up and down stairs. If not, I must really suck and time to give up. Im only walking slowly (heel toe) ninja walk style and my footage is a wobbly mess. Im not running up and down stairs like you. Maybe it's my camera, maybe I got a defective RS3 Mini, or again, maybe I just suck.

I really like your review, Im looking for a gimbal to buy at the moment. What about with the 24-70 GM, as it right now, it will be my go to lens, it's probably a much heavier lens then the Tamron, isn't it? Would be great if it could handle the 70-200 GM, just for some specific stuff, but that is a long and really heavy lens.

great review. I am wondering if when using the mic on top of the camera one has movment restriction especially in reverse shot very close to the ground. I would like to use my a1 and the mic but i am not so sure it will work out...any clue on that?

Will it fly a smartphone? Specifically, a flagship phone with a cage/case? Other compact gimbals can't fly these devices.

I have this gimbal for over a year now. I record walking tour/video tours (see my channel). What I really like about this gimbal is the fact that it is really lightweight and easy to use. Also the battery performance is outstanding. I have filmed up to 8 hours a day with this gimbal and never run out of battery. The major con in my opinion is the stabilization. itself It is not that smooth (at least not my gimbal). The amount of shakiness is still really persistent and I always require internal stabilization (camera) applied or even post-processing stabilization in order to get the best result. Which takes a lot of extra time and effort.

Still they should have made detachable handle only it's depends on bag to bag in which it will fit anyway still buying it because it's very lightweight

Brandon, is the A7R5 with 50 1.2 GM too big for this?

You're the first reviewer I've seen that doesn't take off the horizontal plate when mounting vertically. Does it cause any problems keeping it on there while you use it?
