We need to cut Caitlin Clark a break. Her recent announcement regarding her white privilege was done out of self-preservation. From the moment people started to notice Caitlin Clark's amazing ability on the court she became the target of the institutional racism of the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark became the target of psychological and physical abuse on and off the court.
Hardly a WNBA fevers game went by without her being manhandled by the players of the opposing team, usually POC.
Most egregious was the recent playoff game between the Connecticut Suns and the Indiana fever.
Early in the game Connecticut Suns player, DiJonai Carrington, in a blatant attack, nearly blinded Caitlin Clark by hitting her in the eye with her insanely long fingernails. With a blackened eye to prove it.
Even this egregious attack was not called out by the referanyees, not protested by her or coach and she was not defended by anyone in the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark is a fantastic player and if she continues to honor the WNBA with her presence, she needs to hire some body guards.

Let me say a very basic comment. If all these black players were indeed equally as talented as Caitlin Clark then why did they not break all the records that Clark broke? Why did they not win the scoring title in the NCAA? Why are they not the rookie with the most assists in the league history? No. It is simple. They are not the equal to Clark. She is clearly what she is for several reasons, one of which is her individual talent is far above the rest. Regardless of skin color. I believe she is a white woman that is straight and spiritual in a predominately black player league that is not straight and spiritual so they simply do not like nor accept her. It is that simple and basic. The other players, again, regardless of color are simply not her equal. And I am an avid IU fan and therefore rooted against Clark on many occasions.
