Ive played ds3 sekiro and elden ring. Ive played all kinds of builds. I always have the most fun with crazy magic builds. DS3 I ran around as a nekked dragon boy casting fire. Elden ring i basically ran the above build for most of the game before switching to a blood magic build.

I stan magic builds. If people hate on you for it have em 1v1 you in an honor duel and roll around them as your blood flies eat them alive. Or get wrecked by their teleporting katana arts. As long as youre having fun.

As someone who is returning to the game after a year break, this guide does a poor job of highlighting on the map where to go. "near the start past this merchant", yeah fucking which direction from the start? How close? Where is that merchant even?

This was my first and only playthrough. Worked my ass off to get all the pieces, then one shotted everything, then got stuck on the last boss.

I'm late to the party here, and i figured on leaving well enough alone, but considering how many views this video has gotten, I felt obligated to make some points.

1. The majority of this video and build are not through any form of natural progression. These items, spells, and weapons are impossible to "stumble upon" or naturally progress and discover in the fashion shown in the video. An example would be cheesing the dragon mini-boss with an early bleed weapon, knowing where to find lusat's staff, knowing where to find azur's sorcery, the tears and buffs required, all of the things listed are from many specific pinpoints in the game and this kind of representation is inaccurate to what a normal magical build would look like. Magic builds get a whole lot of flak, and many times deserve it, but this kind of misrepresentation is misleading at best and malicious at worst.

2. The point of ease of use and accessibility are true, but not in relation to what he's listed and discussed in this video. Starting out the game with the aforementioned rush to the first bleed weapon available, a hidden sending gate you only find through exploration/giving deathroot to D, and then cheesing a boss for an instant massive soul/rune bonus, and then dumping all of those runes heavily into 1 stat and slightly into another is not "ease of use" as much as it is abuse of mechanics and knowledge for a ridiculous early game edge. This instant 100k souls would benefit just about every build, and many good early game weapons for popular builds like strength are literally sitting around in wagons, waiting to be plucked away. Most of the items mentioned are glossed over, and the majority of obtainment is not shown in the video, giving the illusion of ease of access.

3. The above noted misdirection of most of this video is difficult to watch, particularly if you have progressed through the game multiple times and have explored the map in many different ways with different builds. Much of what he describes is hidden, or briefly shown for a few seconds. Many of the major pitfalls of comet azur or mage builds in general are glossed over or completely unmentioned. Some of the bosses he shows, like Radahn or the Gargoyle bosses are often extremely mobile and are really only shown on rare occasions where they are holding completely still. Other clips of bosses are when they are open world bosses, and because of that are unaware to the players presence until the sorcery activates, causing them to go through their "noticing" phase while still taking high amounts of damage from sitting still. this can also be noted on bosses that have to close a lot of distance to the player, such as morgott after you've died to him once (as shown in the video.)

This build is totally possible as shown, none of it being total lies, and even though comet azur burns through mana disgustingly quick, it is extremely powerful when paired with this combination of crystal tears. What one might consider accessibility through simplicity (pressing one button to win) disregards a lot of the work that goes into getting these items, as a lot of other comments have listed. Getting a build like this while naturally progressing through areas from start to finish takes a lot more hours than the video would have you believe. as Elden Ring is the most widely viewed Soulsborne game by new players and the public, it's important to be responsible when representing what can be done early on. At the end of the day, it is just another fun Fromsoft title and really, anyone can make any video they want. I just feel like much of this could have been much better represented and explained.

As a strength faith dex build I have never been able to use strong magic so I’m doing this just so I can use a big laser for once

Problem with magic is it starts to suck once the bosses actually get hard.

Some people say that bloodborne is harder than elden ring, but they would be LYING. The amount of times i got fucked over because i forgot the game was open worlded and allowed me to farm before bosses is saddening

I want to say that there is a spell that is likr comet azur but with less range but a fatest hitbox that is called meteorite of astel if you have lusat +10 right hand and météorite staff left hand you can have the power of lusat with the 30% damage boost on gravity spell so it deal more damage than comet azur and it deal it with physical damage so against boss like elden beast or rennala with a really high magic resist this spell will be your best friend.

I know I’m late to the party but imo the ritual sword talisman works much better for this build. I’m playing a mage with 9 vigor so I get one shot by everything at this point in the game. Ritual sword talisman boosts attack at full hp for those of you wondering and it works great cuz I’m either at full hp or dead

Followed exactly as suggested. Beam only lasts a few seconds not for ages like in the video. I suspect its nerfed.
