Glashütte Original SeaQ (and the Rolex Submariner)

Too bad it does not have a display back as the movement looks great

Finally pulled the trigger because of this video. The SeaQ has been on my radar for years. BlueQ incoming and due to arrive tomorrow! Can't wait :) Great content!

The only caveat I have with this 39.5mm diameter model is its less-than-impressive 40-hour power reserve. With the likes of lesser priced models from Tudor offering up to 70 hours, GO really needs to step up their game in this department. Otherwise two solid 👍 👍 from me!!

Bracelet looks like something you'd find on a $1k Seiko, with the exception of the clasp.

I just can't stand the end links on the SeaQ, look so odd.

Rolex , any day over the Sea Q , especially due to the price.

there is something about the aesthetics of the sea q that put me off... the busy dial with numbers, the non tapering bracelet and the shiny links, the ultra slim bezel it's just not for me but hey congrats to those who do like it.

Thanks for a great video. I have a green SeaQ and continue to be impressed by it. Very high-caliber piece for the price.
One small note, it has a 120-click bezel (in the video you said 60).

That SeaQ is beautiful. My biggest gripes isn't the price (although that is one), it's the polished centre links and last-century power reserve. Make it 60+ hours and brush the centre links and I'll be interested. Otherwise Rolex has my money.

Are you sure the SeaQ has a 60 click bezel, sounds like 120 click to me.

Currently cross-shopping this and the new Mark XX on bracelet. Mainly because of size, that cool clasp that is shared by both watches, and the beautiful blue dials. I can get the SeaQ for about 30% off. Much smaller discount for the IWC. Having a very hard time deciding which I like more.

I'm curious how it will hold resale value, Brand perception not being equal. It's a quality, gorgeous watch that you can put on your wrist fairly easily (if you are flush). Good news...you don't need to wait 2-4 years.

Great video. It's a very nice watch but in no way is it worth $10k (to me anyway). If it was priced like an Omega I might have interest. However, not a fan of the lack of a nice taper in the bracelet width and the polished/brushed center link combo is weird. I would brush out the bracelet center links if I owned this watch.

The case back is kinda a deal-breaker for me and the big one is too big for me :(

handwound movements: – 4 bis +6 seconds in 24 hours
automatic movements: – 5 bis +10 seconds in 24 hours

Tudor pelagos has a better bracelet and adjustment system..... by far!

Got to say the link removal with the bayonet/lock is much more secure and easy to use than the Rolex. The Rolex screws can back out with movement, the Grashutte is VERY secure.

10K for that watch is decent considering it's build quality

problem with this guy he tries to just not criticize anything and be neutral, the rolex movement is not better and if power reserve is the judge then eta new 80 hrs power reserve are better you need to see the beauty and hand finishing of the glashutte original seriously your reviews are boring

regardless of the hype, the rolex just is way more cool and looks better.

i love glashütte so much, it's just a wonderful brand. I don't agree that this watch is only interesting for people who already have a roleyx or omega watch. in my opinion, this watch also and especially appeals to people who like something special and don't want to follow the boring mainstream,

Kirk is awesome for owning this underrated gem. Also getting this watch for around 6-7k isnt impossible.

The main reason you'd buy a SeaQ over a Submariner is because GO will actually sell you one. And sell it at MSRP. For all practical purposes the Sub is double the price. Do you want to do business with a company that wants to take your money, or one that finds you so unimportant they dont need you.
