The arrows I'm using are victory archery tko. They say that they are spine aligned. Would you still do arrow tuning?
Ответить"I'm not bending the barrel so it'll shoot better!"
Brilliant!
I've always used Gold Tip (usually Hunter XT), with a 60lb bow, Muzzy 3 blade, or Wasp 3 blade.
I used to use as light of an arrow package as possible, (without being dangerous), to keep my shots "flatter", but I also lost several deer..
I'd like to move to a heavy hitter setup, so should I stick with the Gold tips, or look for better shafts?
Uuuugh. I just bought my first compound coming from your advice on stickbows and my head is thumping. It's upside down, Troy. It's upside down.
Do you ever recommend starting with a longer arrow and trimming to get that last bit or is that an impact paradox recipe and what nock tuning is for?
Can my hillbilly ass just shoot a 100grn broadhead on my 340 spine arrow? If I hits the target well 905% of the time , I’d that ok? Serious question. I agree with other people commenting , this guy freaking rocks.
ОтветитьLove the process. Was shooting light weight but through these videos am moving to heavy weights. Looking forward to 2022 pass throughs
ОтветитьHaha there is a preparation H add hooked to this video. Must be for those getting butt hurt over logic.
Ответитьhave you tried the alien archery broadheads from australia their a very good broadhead
ОтветитьQuestion.. im driving tacks on the test kit at 7 yrds 350 with 100 insert 200 point. When i back up to 12 it just like the rest are tail right pretty hard. Should i not worry abt 12 and go with the best 7 yrd setup?
ОтветитьI hope u make a lot of money. Hand over fist. And I can buy all the stuff cheaper. But it’s a lot of leg work and who knows how it will be. This is high quality stuff and easy (Er) and all in one place. Seems cheap enough to me.
ОтветитьJust wanted to say thank you for the information you put out man having fun I build my own arrows and shooting two different bows , pse bow madness xs 60 lbs 30 inch draw and my old timer golden eagle juice cannon @ 77 lbs 31 draw the versatility of different arrow spine and weight is endless I can shoot 625 grns @ 35 and 40 yards with both bows and keep them in a tennis ball size group a man can go mad having so much fun so keep em coming love all the info ,and by the way making fun of the know it all's makes me smile too. Florida tom
ОтветитьOk my dude, you gotta stop with these videos, you are just breaking these twizzler slingers hearts and we all know a them paper thin mechanicals just do it better than them ol heavy boat anchor broadheads! Haha! Love the videos man, your Killin it.
ОтветитьI just got my order from sirius I went with 200 spine arrows though and not the kit. I have a 30 inch draw shooting 70 lbs. I also got the strop. Reviewing your videos before I do anything. Looking forward to the process.
ОтветитьHow do I know which (handload) arrow is hitting best with my bow when the paper tunes are different with each arrow. Do I adjust my arrow rest with each arrow? You have to first start with an arrow that is shooting bullet holes into paper, but which of my four arrows do I tune bow to????
ОтветитьSo I got a question. Might sound stupid but just trying to get this stuff figured out. If I was shooting an arrow and I flipped top hats to get a bullet hole. Before I start with the kit should I take the bow back to factory settings on the cams? Or will it not matter
ОтветитьKill. The. Deer.

That's that.

That one thing that a person doesn't have to worry about when they are watching one of your videos is that you will respond to them and that is saying a lot when someone is new to bow hunting just responding is giving that individual direction and the right direction.
ОтветитьSecond time watching this video, clears up a lot to a novice archer! Just startet fiddling with dynamic spine a part of my bow tuning process.
ОтветитьLOVE YOU RANCH 🧚♀️
ОтветитьWhat apollo test kit should I get for 60-65# 27.5 draw and trying to get somewhere around 650 grains
ОтветитьSo, after all these steps, when it’s time to order arrows, will I have to nock tune those also?
ОтветитьAssume this will also quiet your bow as another positive.
ОтветитьThanks for teaching this old bow hunter a bunch of new tricks! I've never had the penetration and broadhead accuracy that I do now. Nock tuning carbons makes a big difference! My problem was changing everything because of a shoulder injury. Turning my bow weight down and going to lighter spine arrows.
ОтветитьMan I love what you are doing thank you for what you are doing
ОтветитьGreat video. I keep watching everyone you make about everything. One common thing I hear is this applies to compound not recurve... What do you suggest for recurves? Is the spine required more or less or something? Thanks!!
Joe
love this channel, even though I transitioned to crossbow a while ago. Can't pull a 60lb vertical anymore. Most of this stuff can be used by us crossbow guys with a few tweaks. If nothing else get guys away from mechanicals ! I just got in a set of six Sirius bolts last week and hope to get 3 of the six that are flying nails. Sadly, nock tuning is not in the cards as they are pre fletched. Bolt weight is 400 grains or so as is, hoping a 200 grain Tuffhead single bevel will be my winner.
ОтветитьHow do you know which way and how many times a bare arrow rotates without a high speed camera?
ОтветитьSo if you get the arrorws spine aligned from sirus, do you still have to knock tune?
ОтветитьTroy I ordered the Apollo 250-300 spine kit. 250spine, 100grain jacket and insert with 200 grain field tip was perfect.
I'm buying some Apollo arrows and tuffhead broadheads but my friend is telling me to only buy the stainless steel sleeves and jackets which are 150grain and just go with 150grain broadheads and it'll be the same but I'm not sure about that.
Is that true? Wouldn't it effects the FOC?
I just went through the process with the test kit . The arrow set up my bow likes is 250 spine 200 grain head up front. My question is if my arrow is coming off the bow with a left hand rotation should I get left helical fletchings with a left hand single bevel broad head ?
ОтветитьIf you decide to go with the EZ Button after you complete the bare shaft tuning, are you then unable to nock tune the EZ Button arrows since they're already fletched?
Or does nock tuning fletched arrows not matter if you have a drop-away rest? Bottom line, I'd like to be able to nock tune all arrows and want to see if that's possible if ordering the EZ Button, thanks!
I’m pretty sure some douchebag that has never really tried to tune a bow thought of calling this “masking” and a bunch of people that like light arrows just piled on. One thing i learned in the past two years is more than half the comments on a thread in a forum are often just pure bullshit. Like twisting yokes in the opposite direction of the cable. I have read that so many times, and 100 percent of the time that results in the yokes twisting together lol. You gotta be careful what you read online.
ОтветитьHa good job on everything. Got a question have you very done a test on arrow vane noise test. To see with one is the quietest. That would be great to find out
ОтветитьWith the test kit, do you soine test the insert with the field point? And I'm 26.5 dl at 58lb draw which 2 spine do I need to get for test kit?
ОтветитьIt amazes me when I'm on somone else's channel and they rum there mouth about ranch ferry and have never tried anything he says or they would know it works.
ОтветитьI shoulda ordered the test kit to start with I spent 2 month tinkering with 250 vap elites with 150 grain insert and a 200 grain tip my bow would not tune had to buy a new whisker biscuit an it still wouldn't tune came off knock hi no matter what we did. So I ordered the Vulcan test kit and came off like a dart.
ОтветитьWould you suggest this process for crossbow?
ОтветитьI know I’m behind others, I have a test kit on the way. As well as 2 sets of evolution broad heads. I’m excited to see what a difference weight makes and my KE’s with those. Thanks for getting this out there
ОтветитьSo, you have a true 28" draw. What length should your shafts need to be cut for half outs or the longer out-serts? Bowhunting 40 years 125-100's. Tough Heads intrigue me. Old Somb!tch still trying to figure sh!t out. LOL Don't judge me! ROTFLMMFAO!
ОтветитьI've often questioned the way that they set up compound bows and even some guy shooting traditional that are cut to Center they say if it's cut the center you have a adjustable rest you can shoot any spines you want just make it do what you want my question is isn't it better to give the bow what it really wants and not fight the system like you say wheels are going straight and the errors down the middle it all lines up everything's happy
ОтветитьKnow this is an old video, but I don't see the problem with you doing what you're doing.... and also owning a bow press. What you leave out on bow tuning is that cam timing has to be perfect, need a press at least to fix that. Presses for compounds are a few hundred bucks new. You mention hitting nock high and nock low.... this is a cam timing issue 95% of the time. If that's the case, then you are potentially tuning an arrow to a bow thats completely out of spec. I say everyone should/can do whatever they like, only stating what I know/seen/done. My background is I'm a mechanical engineer and I've been tuning bows and archery equipment professionally for 15ish years.
ОтветитьIs there a place we can go to print the tuning list from this video? It's probably my stupid, but I can't get the computer to print the whole list of steps. Thank You.
ОтветитьI think your philosophy is correct, tuning your arrows to the bow. I believe the reason certain bullets/loads fly best in a rifle has to do with the resonance frequency of the barrel. A fully floated rifle barrel vibrates when the round is fired like a tuning fork. A bow has a resonance frequency as well as the arrows.
ОтветитьImagine doing all that then putting feathers on…
ОтветитьI am new to compound bows but i have tuned arrows, with your method, on a trad bow. And this makes soo much sense that "bending" the bow to shoot a particular arrow. Much easier to find an arrow that the bow likes as it is. Thanks, this info is gold!🎉
ОтветитьSo, got the test kit. I emailed you with my results. I'm impressed. Now shooting bare shafts at 20 yards. Liking what I'm seeing. Just verifying that the adjustments I made on my rest to where my fletched shaft impacts....tail left or right are correct. Continuing tomorrow. I was questioning my tail position bare shaft vs fletched. They're all, almost perfectly in line. You warned this process was arduous. You're absolutely correct. What I'm seeing is arrow flight perfection coming into reality.
