Thanks for this, worked like a charm. Do you need to disable the SSHD in Konsole when you're finished transferring? Cheers
ОтветитьCan you access the SD card via FTP?
ОтветитьThank you sir.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks.
ОтветитьWarpinator stopped working for me, so I figured I would try this. Nope. I followed this to the tee, like 5 times over. Filezilla just keeps timing out and doesn't connect. No idea what I'm doing wrong.
ОтветитьHey, bros!
I'v got a problem, help please
I'v run already a server, worked just fine! But on the second day it just does not connect, showing that there is no server
I've done just the same commands - enable and start, but still no progress
Help plz, what that can be?
you are a life saver ty
ОтветитьExactly what I nedded, so thanks
ОтветитьThank you so much for this. I was using warpinator which worked atleast 2 times and after that is just stopped working properly.
ОтветитьLegend! works amazing
ОтветитьHow to transfer to sd card? I can't found the folder
Ответитьgracias!!!
ОтветитьWhere to find sd card folder?
Ответитьso i managed to get it all set up but filezilla isnt connecting to the server; i tried to find out why and from what ive found out, i use a private ip, which is a problem and i need to use a global ip adress? i dont get it, i am a noob in this stuff pls help me
ОтветитьOnce enabled, is ssh still possible when you switch back to gaming mode? I want to export a file from a game and then be able to grab that file from my laptop without having to leave the game and switch to desktop mode. Is this possible?
Thanks
This video inadvertantly showed me that the VGUI2 Classic theme exists. Wish Valve would upload it to KDE's servers so I could get it on my desktop.
Ответитьis it really necessary to set a password?
ОтветитьReally easy to follow along and replicate what you did, thank you so much!
ОтветитьSays its an incorrect password
ОтветитьIts also only via WIFI? What if my PC is with LAN connected?
ОтветитьI. FREAKING. LOVE. YOU. THANK YOU REALLY!!! YOU JUST GAINED ANOTHER SUBSCRIBER.
ОтветитьShould I somehow disable this connection when I'm done transferring files?
"sudo systemctl end sshd" command doesn't work.
Thank you so much for this guide, I stopped using my Steam Deck for a few months but have got into retro emulation and picked it back up, I was using Winpinator before but went back on my deck and whatever i did it just wouldn't work for me, followed this guide and worked first time. Panic over!
Ответитьdoes it also work with big files? (10gb+)
ОтветитьThat was so simple. Thank you!
ОтветитьGot this working but does anyone know how to place ROMS onto the SD card in the deck? I can't find the path for it in Filezilla
ОтветитьWhat if the Ip changes? like if another device uses it while the deck is turned off. We need a fixed ip.
Ответитьman how do you get dark theme on filezilla lol
Ответитьthis made things so much easier for me, thank you!
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. Can this method also be used to connect to a remote Steam Deck (not local on the same network)?
ОтветитьI owe you my first born for this
ОтветитьHow so you access the SD card in the Steam Deck?
ОтветитьPC game installs: "\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common"
Deck game installs: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common
You can copy your game folders freely between them to save on downloading multiple times from the Internet. Surprised no one has mentioned this especially if you're on slow or limited data. I'm in a major city in the US and still stuck with 50mbit/sec download, which is maybe 20GB/hr if I'm lucky... Uncharted is 124GB, Anno 1800 is 87GB...! They took 10 minutes instead of 4 hours!
"cant connect to the server" :/
EDIT: just restart the deck after enabling and starting sshd
👍👍
ОтветитьI have the base 64gb steamdeck with a 512 gb sd but everytime I move files in Filezilla I can't dictate where I want something saved. Is there a way I can move system files and the likes to the sd?
Ответитьworked like a charm
ОтветитьThis is the way.
Vault tested, method approved.
I'm even chained through a powered USB Hub with Cat6e Gbit networking.
Works flawless.
Just transferred 512GB from Desktop to Steam Deck in under 4 hours vs 2 days.
WiFi also works great and I dropped a movie to the Deck in minutes.

Holy moly.. Issues with files taking maannny hours to get onto a USB, then crash. Warpinator being slower then.. Anything. This is the winner, nice and simple guide. Thank you so much! Now I can play my mega modded skyrim. :D
ОтветитьGreat guide, for some reason I could only connect to the steamdeck on filezilla when I set the port to "22". Hopefully this helps someone :)
Ответитьcan this access the microsd card in the steam deck?
Ответитьhey, great video
one question - do my pc have to be connected to the same wifi or it cloud be wired with ethernet?
because although i can transfer files from pc to the deck, when i try vice versa it just cant find the the pc and sends it back to the deck
heads up, if you're trying to access files on the SD card inside your steam deck, its under /var/run/media
ОтветитьCan I do this backwards?
ОтветитьDo I need to go through the entire process again if I try to re-connect the following day?
ОтветитьThis is very helpful, I'm just wondering if there's any way to transfer files directly to a micro SD card on the Steam Deck. I can only access the SSD on my deck in Filezilla.
ОтветитьThanks for this. Easy set up, great video. Works perfect.
ОтветитьSo I’m a complete novice with this stuff. Followed 3 of your vids and they’ve all worked perfectly for me! Thank you so much for your work and I look forward to seeing more
ОтветитьThanks for this video worked flawless, quick question once you use the command in konsole sudo systemctl enable sshd" and "sudo systemctl start sshd will this always be enabled and open on the deck even after powering off and back on next day? if yes does it consume any more power or anything like that running in the background etc ? sorry if that's a stupid question
ОтветитьIf you're on a windows machine and would like DARK MODE, WinSCP is a similar FTP client, open source, and starts in blessed dark mode. Setup screen is nearly identical to Filezilla so you can follow this video and still connect.
