You probably are familiar with the situation where you have recorded a great video as an MKV file using OBS. Only to realize later on that you can't import the footage into DaVinci Resolve. Therefore, the MKV file had to be remuxed using OBS, Handbrake, FFMPEG or another tool. This means that the MKV file had to be converted into a compatible format - for example MP4 - so that it can be opened and edited in DaVinci Resolve. In the latest Blackmagic Design news, I noticed a feature that I really had to check out. The announcement states that support for decoding MKV clips is now possible with the new 17.2 DaVinci Resolve version. Let's try it out and see if this is really the case.
