Improve your photography skill, then get a Nikon D5300 instead. You get better image quality, resolution, dynamic range, and ISO performance. If you're thinking about the drop in buffer size and frame rate, here's a tip I always tell my students: 1fps gives you a 10% chance of getting the shot right; 5 fps gives you a 50% chance. If you're a skilled photographer, a 50% chance is all you need.

I think Canon should go back in time about 3 years back and release this. Sony A7s and GH4 has 4k and even kid Samsung nx1 has 4k. Hats off to Panasonic for Gh4, LX100, FZ1000. By seeing this video, Panasonic is laughing on this stupid video, Sony is enjoying themselves and the best is Kid Samsung is showing middle finger to Canon. All canonions having canon lenses are crying.

Here Canon makes the ultimate APSC camera. The most advanced AF and metering system ever. Two Digic 6 procs to run it all. And the best lens selection with company's like Tamron and Sigma making decent affordable lens. Lets see who is still around five years from now? Sony, Fuji or Canon or Nikon.  Even Nikon seems to be a banding APSC and going with FF cameras.  Ask this what do the pros use most? 

I am really looking forward to using this camera. I would have liked a few other features but it is a great package for someone who wants the extra zoom due to the crop factor. It is a nice addition to a full frame for this reason and makes a fantastic second camera to your full frame. Having the varied crop makes your lens set-up more dynamic. For someone that isnt made of money this can be quite nice :)

I also think it is funny how upset people get that canon doesnt release x or y and they will leave because brand d has a new body that rocks 4k this that or the other thing. Maybe true in some respects but I think a lot of these same folks are the same people that buy a body and then another body and then another and another etc etc etc. Problem is that your glass is much more important and even more so is your skill as a photographer.
It would be nice if Canon could bring out a camera that is 4k video, full frame, shoot at 10 frames per second, have a 35mp sensor, have a swivel screen, sport wifi, all for under 2 grand. Im sure they would like that as well as they would destroy half the camera market is one foul swoop but you must be realistic.

At least with canon, most their camera bodies and lenses are still made in Japan. That is an impressive feat that very few companies are able to do and be competitive. Main reason I switched from Nikon is that I refuse to pay over 1 grand for a lens made in china and a 3.5k body made in Thailand.

Sorry, this advert is really inconclusive. You promote this camera as a pro sports shooter's weapon, but there's a 1DX for them. This camera was always an all purpose top APS-C for intermediate photo AND VIDEO pros. But you don't give them anything they want! Sensor is not really new. I see the dynamic range is REALLY BAD. +2 fps? Not a big deal.
Video side? 60p FHD in 2014? Srsly?! Where is 4k, ot 120p, or good detalization and sharpness, new, GOOD CODEC at least?!
What really differ it from 7D? What excuses it costs twice as much as 7D? Nothing. Nothing!
Don't you see there's Sony and Panasonic destroy you? Why don't you even try to make something valuable?

Ok, nice but not mind-blowing for a landscape photographer. Canon still hasn't closed the gap between sony, nikon high res FF. The AF system is great, but for that purpose I've got the 1DX.  The 5d mark III was a very minor upgrade compared to the mark II that was released in 2008 !!!. Compared to other brands there is now a huge quality gap. Things like dynamic range,  resolution are still undeveloped. There's also not much development in the wide angle department. I don't need IS, because I'm shooting on a tripod!!! . It's like Canon is forcing its landscape and architectural photographers towards their competitors. I'm waiting for 4 years now, but time's running out. If there's no change within the next months, I sell all my (expensive) Canon gear and move to another brand that takes more care about it's landscape and architectural photographers. A very frustrated all time Canon user.
