To the info: She was the first performing Tosca, but it was in 1899.
ОтветитьThank you for posting 1
ОтветитьUndoubtedly. There's only a few information about her.
ОтветитьI agree. This fact should be written according to the importance of it. Reading it here, I almost didn't notice it. Puccini's opera Tosca is one of the most appreciated of the operatic repertoire. Tosca's aria "Vissi d'arte" was written at Hariclea Darclée's request. Thank you for posting !
ОтветитьI also thank you. I did her bio for Find a Grave...she must have been wonderful, considering the composers who used her for debuts. She was 62 when this was made...Oh to have heard her 20 years earlier. The five sides for Fonotipia comment is true; good luck...
Ответитьgreat!
ОтветитьHariclea Haricli -Darcleé, s-a născut la Brăila...
ОтветитьShe really possesses a voice of extraordinary timbre and beauty. But I don't know what she is singing here. I have never heard of that song. Anyway, how I would have liked to hear and see her Tosca! I am also proud because at the very first Covent Garden performance of Tosca (a few years after the premiere) my fellow-Croatian soprano, Milka Trnina sang the role, and Puccini apparently sought exactly her and was very pleased with her performance.
Ответитьthis is a folklore song a Romanian composer arranged back in the mid 19th century, Tiberiu Brediceanu. she's singing about love between two youths, really. nothing special about the lyrics
Ответитьwrote only Vissi d'arte for Darclee:D
Ответить@corellithebest She sings an adaptation after a Romanian traditional song. This song, among others, was gathered in an album by Tiberiu Brediceanu.
ОтветитьThis seems originally to have come from one of Edward J Smith's LPs. which means that - sadly - this is almost certainly NOT sung by Hariclea Darclee. In amongst many undoubtedly genuine recordings, Smith issued such gems as Wagner conducting at the Bayreuth Festival of 1880 (a year I understand he did not conduct there). I'd take this with as much trust as that. Still, this is lovely singing. A shame he didn't say who she really is.
Ответить@chrisz78 I am very glad to hear that it's genuine - in a way. If it had been another Romanian soprano, it would have been a rewarding exercise to identify her and find other records by her. As it is, all we have are these two, and the knowledge of others that didn't survive the war. I don't doubt that what you say is correct. But why is there nothing about this from the Romanian archive, or from Electrecord?
ОтветитьSuperba interpretare! Din pacate nu prea disting versurile... ma poate ajuta cineva?
ОтветитьHariclea Darclée sang 58 roles on 56 operas (32 operas of tradition, 12 in absolute première and 16 operas in important premières) by 31 composers (12 composers of the tradition and 19 young composers with new operas interpreted in absolute première); this artist occupies a singular position in the universal history of the opera. She made only a handful of recordings for Fonotipia in 1905, all exceedingly rare
ОтветитьShe was the first Odalea in Gomes' Condor...
Ответитьso?
Ответитьhow do you know?
Ответитьmonumentala, extraordinara,te face mandru ca esti ROMAN
ОтветитьAt least there are recordings. I would give anything to at least hear a recording of the first performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
ОтветитьC'est bien la version ancienne précieuse et formidable
ОтветитьHow did you obtain this recording?
Ответитьshe was actually born in Braila, not Bucharest. She died in Bucharest.
Ответить..Prima Tosca.,.privighetoarea Carpatilor..Vissi d'arte...ea a cintat.o prima data!!!.Marius Marin Dobrin.
ОтветитьUna forza della natura: Darclée (1860-1939)!
ОтветитьClearly a great artist- Hariclea Darclee
ОтветитьCorrigindo: em 1891.
ОтветитьThis is not the only record of her preserved! Do some research!
ОтветитьHariclea Darclee was highly acclaimed in Tosca in Monaco in 1903 with non less than Caruso as Cavaradossi!
ОтветитьLa PRIMA TOSCA
ОтветитьThanks for posting.
