I have realised why I watch QI, it reminds me of the nerdy group I was part of in school 😊

The "Mad Hatterpillar" reminds me forcibly of an old lady who used to frequent Finchley Road, in London, back in the 1960s. She was always immaculately turned out, frequently in haute couture, but she always wore three hats, one on top of the other. I passed close to her one day and she said, to no one in particular, "And, do you know, she was the most despicable ladies' maid you EVER saw!"

I thinking, Alan, sitting there, year after year, nailing the character of the Holy Fool, when the reality is he's invested thousands of hours and decades of his life participating in making QI the absolute cultural institution that it is within the English speaking world. It is said that Alan does no preparation but that cannot be so: someone like that is going to be integral to a television production in the days leading up to the shoot, and television production is not an easy thing to do. His really is an incredible performance.

all of alan's animal impressions are great, but nothing beats his julie andrews impression.

An early one not included here that I like is his ‘bat sensing a moth’.

Born too late to enjoy British comedy at its peak, born too early to see the last funny comedian as a result of cancel culture, born just in time to see Alan Davies.

And Sandi thinks Alan is a genius...he is pathetic. Maybe you had to be there.

I have a theory... QI has been great with both Stephen and Sandi.... but the constant common denominator has been Alan. Maybe he's the ultimate reason why QI has been so good all this time - taking nothing away from Stephen and Sandi, of course.

Aisling clearly wasn't listening - it was a shark faking an orgasm, so it was always going to be over the top

Bill Bailey's many unexpected skills and talents take you by surprise so often! There's so many things he's great at or knows a lot about and you totally don't see it coming until the minute he uses them like the nonchalant bugger he is. Impressive.

Did they seriously say the most expensive caviar is 'beluga whale caviar'? WTF? Do they even know what caviar is? Whales are mammals, hence NO EGGS🥚. They give birth to live young. Beluga caviar comes from 'beluga sturgeon'. There is more than one animal called a 'beluga-something', it just means white in Russian.

Alan's Beluga Whale impression is so imprinted into my brain I use the voice and/or quotes in real life... which never works because no one but me has seen the show.

One of the reasons I like Sandi as a host more than Stephen (though I like both) is because she genuinely laughs in hysterics at some of Alan’s anecdotes.
