As someone who has D.I.D from extreme trauma, it baffles me that people are out here making up having D.I.D for attention. It is more dishearting that people like me, who has it, get fakeclaim; while fakers are running around making it hard for the real us suffering.

And the population which suffers from D.I.D is 1.5%, however, that could be the ones reported. There are many of us who go unreported and unable to get help, because of the stigmas D.i.D face.

I was diagnosed with Asperger’s when I was about nine, I think. Personally, I believe the most important part of a diagnosis isn’t being ‘cool’ or ‘quirky’ it’s being able to inform others around you so that they can properly help you navigate and cope in the world around you. Its not a label or something that someone’s entire being revolves around, its just something to help provide an understanding between the people around you so that it’s easier to work together and communicate.

The only reason I'm even on TikTok is to draw attention to these fakers. I'd be reluctant to reluctant to suggest that what they're doing is the result of an actual mental illness like Munchausens because that would be playing right into their hands.

As someone diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder I just find this video amazing on the fact that you know where are the limits of your jokes without accidently include real people with DID by mocking a specific trait of this disability. I declare this video the best of all internet, I never laughed so hard in a long time😂

AS someone who has anxiety IED and paranoia that’s diagnosed by a psychiatrist and therapist, I can say it’s DISGUSTING how they can fake it. It’s horrible having to deal with this stuff everyday.

As a person with what is probably most likely ocd that can’t afford therapy or a doctors visit yet I just say to people the reason I’m counting things or turning my whole body in clockwise circles or being extremely specific about where I place things and why I’m turning my cup around four times before I can take a sip of my drink (four sips four more sips no more than 8 at a time) is just because I probably need therapy and it’s probably ocd but I’m not diagnosed and I only bring it up when they ask lol

That said I have two kids with ADHD one of those kids was also just diagnosed with autism. The adhd diagnosis took waaaaay less time to get them diagnosed with than the autism with my youngest. That took actual months and lots of observation by professionals at school in his daily life.

I believe that munchausen’s syndrome is only 1% because most people will not admit that they might have it, so they don’t get diagnosed.

I’m 37 and it took me half my actual entire life to be properly diagnosed with my own mental illnesses and subsequently end up on the actual right medication to help me just live more normal/comfortably. Getting diagnosed is not only hard, but massively time consuming and hella expensive. And it’s not like you go to one doctor and bam. It’s not fun. It’s not for flaunting. And I can’t wait for these kids to grow up and reflect and cringe so hard their necks snap trying to turtle into their shoulders. It’s so harmful. Silly little idiots from idiotland with their idiocy.

I have manic depression and anxiety, and seeing what I struggle with reduced to Wattpad and bad Netflix romcom "character quirks" really hurts. I don't go from 0 to 100 in a day, it can take weeks. I'm not afraid of going out in public it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up and pass out and die in a pool of my own throw up. And being depressed isn't lying on the couch watching movies and crying into a bucket of ice cream. It's lying in bed unable to sleep but feeling exhausted while the dishes and laundry pile up. It isn't quirky, it isn't fun, it isn't something to be romanticized.

The “they walk into a room and think ‘am I hallucinating?” Is so very real. Anyone with some form of psychosis such as this is struggling with this everyday. Plus, you do NOT want to show it so openly, either….

I have one of the disorders mentioned in the video. Because of people like you’ve shown, it’s clear I do not have a safe spot to tell people in a way that will help me. People default to not listening to others with the actual disorder because ‘they don’t act anything like the people on the Internet I’ve seen with it’. I’m often told they’re not harming anyone doing this, but they are. They’re harming people with the disorder. They mean I have to suffer alone in more shame and embarrassment, and when I have confided in people, I’ve been treated like this severe illness is fake to get a little bit more attention. This disorder came from a huge place of trauma, and the symptoms it gives are distressing to say the least. I simply can’t click it on for entertainment, and people who have seen me have an episode know it’s not entertaining. If I had schizophrenia and told people, I know it wouldn’t be met with the same response.

I grew up thinking I was autistic because there was an assessment at my school when I was younger than about 3 years later I went in to care in a depressed state was than assessed again and told I was diagnosed with autism with a processing disorder which I think is part of it and that I’m borderline adhd dk what that means

Random little storytime today I went upstairs when I realized I forgot something downstairs, and I literally said there goes my ADHD again, and I literally thought of people who fake disorders (I was diagnosed when I was 7 BY A DOCTOR) oh yeah also to add, I literally went downstairs to go get some water and I ended up fixing something downstairs and totally forgetting about the water

if i remember correctly, DID isnt typically diagnosed until later on in life such as 30s-40s. there has never been a case of someone much younger than that with DID. honestly fakers are so bad at faking like at least do research if youre gonna fake smth and wamna get away with it 💀. it literally doesnt show up in people thag young, definitely not in the way its portrayed by the fakers.

My favorite part is the insane amount of people in the comments of these faking videos who are like "you're making it harder for people like me who actually have DID when you pretend to have this illness" but in reality it is so frickin' rare and like, most of these people are also just lying~ I guess every single commenter just has ADHD now too.

I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and I can’t stand when people fake it. This morning it was acting up really bad and I couldn’t get one thing done because I had stated multiple things and I broke down crying because I just wanted to get my adult responsibilities done but couldn’t. It’s exhausting and infuriating.

It's not just munchausens - there's Factitious Disorder, Undifferentiated somatoform disorder, and Malingering and all of these are different kinds of believing or simply claiming to have a medical problem that is not present. In the case of Somatization disorder the patient really is suffering but the root is psychological not physical, malingering is straight up faking an illness specifically for personal gain, Factitious disorder is Munchausens but in Munchausens you are actually inducing physical symptoms so I'd call all the DID fakers malingering not Munchausens

I was diagnosed with Diabetes when I was 8 and Autism 2 weeks ago… I never told anyone or even thought I was Autistic and actually went in for a diagnosis for Depression/Anxiety 4 years ago, which resulted in me getting an official diagnosis for Autism…

When I was 10 there was a kid that pretended they had Diabetes, I became friends with her and everything on the basis I thought she was the only person I knew with Diabetes, turns out she was making it up because I got more attention from the teachers due to my medical conditions. So I do understand why people get so upset, however… it’s not fun being Diabetic or Autistic, so if someone really wants that attention that badly, I say let them have it! I’ll just be over here coping and trying to find contentment while they lie and eventually out themselves 😂
