From price to quality to speed, the X1C utterly destroys the S7. This is fact. You guys need to lower your prices SIGNIFICANTLY.

They are not listening to anyone of your customers!!!! This is not what the community are looking for. We want a printer like BAMBU LAB, This is the common story for this company. You continue growing and start to do printers that anyone wants and slowly you start to die

So tell me how in the hell is this hunk of junk going to compete with a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon for a quarter or less of its price? Newer and super fast tech is coming to eat your cake ultimaker you better lower those ridiculous prices on these printers or wait for the market to destroy you with much faster cheaper printers that use newer technology. I had a Ultimaker 2 extended this doesn't seem like a super leap forward also why are you still using that 2.85mm garbage filament ? get with the times I want to see you thrive but even as a business owner I would rather buy a Prusa XL or get a Bambu. maybe even build a Voron 2.4 300mm or 350mm. sad to see you guys push boring updates and cost an insane amount of money. I hope you the best but sooner or later bambu will release a larger printer and absolutely destroy your market. I am not talking to you out of despise I want to see you do good but your value is diminishing an ultimaker s7 should cost maybe 2499-3k USD max to make it a viable printer and your filament management syste should be maybe $699-899 which are prices still higher than bambu but much more competitive your newer method series looks the part of an industrial printer so those i guess cost much more

That first layer, right as he's saying "your first layer will print perfectly", is absolutely atrocious looking.

Sad to see nothing has changes since my Ultimaker 3. No speed improvement, no direct drive, same drive system.

ultimaker is the ulti mative scam. if you cut a zero from the price it is close to the price of competing better products. Lol get lost ultimaker.

Ultimaker is the worst printer in its price range. The results are subterraneously bad. The speed is more than just slow and structurally it is also poor. The fact that the print head wobbles makes ghosting a big problem.
Our company regrets buying an ultimaker and we can only advise anyone against supporting this company. it's a rip-off.

guys, please show us something that the more affordable 3d printers cants do. i know reliability is big for the Ultimaker, but the speed is still very slow

Bambu Lab's x1 carbon is better in literally every single way, and likely for at least $2000 cheaper (don't know the price of the s7).

Ultimaker hasn't progressed meaningfully since the Ultimaker 3, which released 7 years ago and costed ~$3K. This machine costs around $8,000K and provides the same capability as an Ultimaker 3 with an enclosure accessory kit with filter that costs like $185 on matter hackers. What is going on with this company. They used to be leaders. Now they're going to get completely eaten alive by objectively superior designs from competitors.

Is it an early april fools joke? Have you done market research? Your competitors are way ahead of you. I have an S3 myself and I am already not using it in the office in favour of cheaper and better Bambu X1 Carbon.

I've been in 3d printing since Ultimaker was making lasercut versions out of their garage. Currently help as a moderator on stack overflow 3D printing run a 3D printing group with about 10k people. I understand its been bought by Stratasys / Makerbot. It just feels like for a 2k per generation price hike they aren't really delivering on the value. 11.5k is more than the tormarc which is prosumer cnc mill. Or say a top of the line 12 inch helical jointer from powermatic a true 1000 lb cast iron industrial tool .. I don't make money so I am not the target.. I'd love to be able to buy one of course but as a hobbyist I will have to stick with my well used UM2 extended+.

I’m just sad. I miss the old ultimaker.

Embarrassing. Looks like Bambu lab will eat ultimakers lunch. Can't even compare prices on the ultimakers because I need to request a quote.

I’ve worked with S5s for a while. I’m really surprised that they haven’t done anything for flexible materials like a direct drive. The worst part of an ultimaker printer is that the filament has to be pushed up before coming down. The extruders chew up filament at the first sign of friction and are always the parts we’re replacing. Prusa XL bandwagon

I have a S5... very good printer. Worth the $$ when purchased back in the day.

Now the S7... improved features are old & expected.....high cost... prefer GLASS.

Often companies "lose their way"

This is disappointing. No real innovation here. I don’t think you have “listened” to your customers at all.

No direct drive?

No upgrade on Kinematics (which are extremely flimsy). You have to run the S5 extremely slow to get any sort of print accuracy. You could have easily addressed this keeping it croxy.

No automated method for aligning duel nozzle system.

Same inaccurate nozzle switching method.

Real shame as Cura is fantastic and deserves a great printer to be linked with it.

I love UltiMaker but I have to say this is very underwhelming. How is this any different than an S5 with air manager and aftermarket Flexplate?
The "printer-part" of the S7 hasn't really evolved since the Ultimaker 3, really sad to see.
