well. With "2x Asus RT-AX56U" I have got A PROBLEM !!

I can-NOT use WIFI-6/AX - because WIFI-6 IS NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE, with a lot of wifi-4 devices.
- including our "Wifi-Alarm", "Wifi RGB-LED-Strips".

So, NO WIFI-6 ... so, I have bought 2 routers, without any purpose ... because IF we enable "wifi-6/AX", then we loose much of our wifi-equipment....

So, backwards compatible.... well, this only includes PC's & Tablets ... all IoT-etc devices, that aren't often firmware-updated, have become garbage!

So, I will need to "return" my socalled "wifi-6 Asus Mesh-Routers" .... and I will buy 2x SECOND-HAND Wifi-5 Routers ... which I will be able to get much cheaper, with better performance (Wifi-5), since these are "optimized & made for Wifi-5, and are not only AX-routers "that are backwards able-to communicate wifi-5" units ...

Conclusion: This standard (Wifi-6) Is actually only good, if one is willing to take down RGB-LED-Strips, buy a new Alarm, etc ...

Asus's Solution: Disable wifi-6 ... well, that is the most annoying thing, I have ever read! Only reason to buy a AX-router, is to be able to use wifi-AX.... not disable AX. It makes this buy = "a complete waste of money" !!!!!!

So my motherboard support 802.11ac. Is that only for the wifi dongle? Or will it still be able to send/receive data through 802.11ax protocol?

If I have an Asus GT-AX11000 with tri band, can I use an Asus RT-AC86U or RT-AC88U for Ai Mesh node while they are only have dual band channel?

Fast, but unstable. Speed varies tremendously down to super slow. Connections time out constantly and router needs to be reset. If you enjoy constantly tinkering with electronics to make them work better or make them work again, this might be for you. I thought I was upgrading from my VELOP mesh system. The AX11000 made me realize how good the VELOP actually is. Velop speed on every speed test out there is much better than the AX11000. Oh, yeah, if you use one of their Dual Band routers as a AIMesh node like the AX6000 was using, the node becomes a single band router and only the 2.4 band is available. I actually had the AX11000 working better by itself in a 3200 sq ft 2-story house. Signal strength was good everywhere, but the connection and consistent speed really were horrible. I will now wait until Orbi or Velop releases their Wifi 6 mesh system.

But is this going to help if 95% off your devices N or AC?

This information is quite accurate. I deal with customers' Wi-Fi concerns every day. The common amount of time between Wi-Fi router upgrades is right at about 5-6 years. Sometimes customers will have their router for only 3 years before they outgrow it. However, I do talk to some customers who have some old Linksys WRT 54G routers from 2004 that finally go bad in 2018.

I've had to recommend Asus Wi-Fi routers a few times because cellular service is the only internet option available where people live why do I recommend Asus Wi-Fi routers for cellular only customers? Because only the Asus Wi-Fi routers understand how to use those 3G/4G USB cellular dongles to get internet service into the router.

I also hope that Asus makes a AX version of the Blue Cave Wi-Fi router because it's awesome looking.
