After reading the comments while at around lvl 35 now I understand why I was shattered like a doll in the hands of psychotic girl.

If you can kill godric you can kill this without cheesing. Attacks are so telegraphed and once you knock it down you can score multiple crit hits on its head

Idk why the first time I tried it the monster was nowhere to be found after I came the whole way back to the high ground. After I jumped in again I couldn't even run a half of the way through when he appeared from the ground and killed me in one hit. The second time, however, it worked but it cost me a ton of arrows and bolts

Another cheese strategy is with poison mist incantation, once you go up the big ladder behind the monster go back down and sneak up from behind to cast the poison, wait until the effect disappears and cast again, it won't aggro it. Also works on other things you can run away from and sneak up to like some bell bearing hunters and the duo tree sentinels in Altus.

Or.... come back when you're stronger. Piece of cake at level 130. Slash and roll, repeat.

The "cheese" on the root monster is to run to the back, climb the ladder. Circle thru court yard and DO NOT NOT NOT use site of grace. Circle back around and the root monster will still be there but you're high up and he can't get you. Use bow or crossbow and rain down on him or magic. If u use site of grace it will De-Spawn.

This boss is easy as a mage. You can kill him just with the Meteoric Staff and Rock Sling easily. It's really about running to the other end of the tunnel to get to the ladder on the opposite end. Wait for the boss to "settle down" and you can drop down to the ground and get prepped. You will not be summoning any spirits for this as even if you can they will die early on. The tactic involves running up to max distance you can keep away without losing a stone to terrain, targeting him, casting one volley, untargeting and turning around to run back to the ladder to climb up. In most instances you will make it up the ladder far enough before he gets to the area around the ladder... Wait for him to deagro, and reset. He will still have damage taken, and you can rinse and repeat this tactic until he is dead. You can do this at least around 30, maybe sooner, its really about how much damage you are doing per cast and how many FP flasks you have access to and how much each restores.

Very nice, additional tip there's some wood planks above ur head when you come back around to hit it on top from the edge, if you look around you see where you can climb up to it and safely range it from there without getting it by any of its attacks even when it's smashing against the wall. It is also close enough you can lob fire pots and fireballs just over the edge of the wall when he's hugging the wall.

It seems like a lot of fucking around for a boss that's not that hard

Hahaha so I went and spawned the boss then ran. Went to the fog gare locked by the sword keys and cleared the room and the outside porch. You can lock onto the root monster from there and throw fire bombs at it hahaha another slice of cheese for ya

you can also use the ladder n back to deaggro him and loretta him to peices, jumping back on the ladder every 1-2 shots.

Thanks, I hate this boss. One word important point, stick to the side when sprinting through. In my first attempt I jumped down and started sprinting to the ladder. When the boss burst from the ground it killed me instantly.

Thank you so much! I was able to snipe him with glintblades (he went out of range a few times but I just lured him back with the bow). I wish I had seen this video sooner, I lost 18k runes to the stupid dog (trying out my shiny new rancorcall spell like an idiot) on my return trip from dying to this boss.
