Though Majora's Mask and Oracle of Ages are my favorite Zelda, I agree with The Wind Waker having the greatest story of all Zelda Game. In particular, I love Link's depiction : fragile and not invincible. I love how desperate he shout and fight back Tetra when his little sister is kidnapped. Also the non manichean Ganondorf, wich I really want to see back (I was very disapointed with his TotK's depiction, where he's all about power and darkness)

My only real disagreement with your tierlist is of course, OoA's placement. I don't know if it because like a lot of fans, you can't resist to ranked it next to Seasons, but you did precise this game is far beyond it's counterpart but then ranked OoA only one place above it. I still think Ages has a way better storytelling than Minish Cap and Alltp at the very least, with Veran being a very ominous and terrible threat able to posess pure hearted people, Nayru being the most useful "maiden archetype" in the saga, and Ralph a more active rival to Link ready to sacrifice himself and killed an innocent to save his country. Also the NPC, though not being as developped than in Majora, are also one the best in my opinion, far better than Minish Cap who looks way more tradinnotial and bland after playing Ages. The misery of their condition (grandma losing her grandson, a couple trying to raise a baby in a endangered world, the slaves forced to work without rest in the tower, Quenn Ambi and Cap'n love story wich is the origin of the Tower...) make OoA way more impactful than a lot of Zelda games. I feel like OoA suffers a lot to the neverending comparison and pairing with OoA, which isn't fair.

That being said, I wanted to thank you to never miss an occasion to talk of the Oracle games, wich suffers a lot of lack of discussion and fan content about them.

Some great takes here, but there are two I disagree with. MM is way down on my ranking. Everything in Termina feel like overexaggerated yet somehow more pale copies of their Hyrule counterparts, and the story tries too darn hard to be engaging and emotional. OOT on the other hand, is without the best story-wise imho: it explains just enough so you don't go withouth answers but you can still use your imagination. I remember just walking around in the graveyard as a kid, imagining the lives of the queens and kings buried there, and thinking to myself that I could hear faint echoes of the music of the composer brothers in my living room.

I'm so happy OoT isnt in the top 3. That game is so overrated. I feel like every linear 3D zelda game did it better in both gameplay and story.

For me, the top five Zelda stories are as followed:
1. Majora's Mask - A tale of a boy who lost someone beloved and invaluable, only to find himself in a strange new land with people who needed help to overcome their sorrows in the face of oblivion. A tale of grief, empathy, and overcoming the impossible. Such a dark setting and a worthy (yet superior) sequel to something timeless. Speaking of which...
2. Ocarina of Time - One of sacrifice, loss, and growing up. So many memorable moments and twists; things that stick with us, even to today. It proves how much this game has impacted our lives and remains a timeless classic.
3. Twilight Princess - the unexpected sequel set a hundred years after the boy without a fairy returns from his two previous adventures. An epic of redemption, friendship, and legacy. Midna shall always be a memorable companion, as well as the Hero's Shade who taught his successor all that he has learned from his time.
4. Skyward Sword - Where it all began: a young lad searching for his beloved girlfriend as he lays down the foundation of things to come. It has the tightest narrative out of all the others, with Groose's character growth being one of my favorites. Plus, Ghirahim is a great antagonist who must make a flashy return someday. The final act is probably my favorite part as well; it all comes down to a duel between two beings of good and evil. All in all, a great story...but not fun to play.
5. Wind Waker - What happens when one single event takes place centuries ago and the only thing left is but legends? For those living in the present, they try to make do in a vast sea with so few fertile islands while remembering what had happened; others try to bring back the past, even if it meant destroying today's world. Underneath the cartoonish style lies a story about a reluctant hero earning his recognition and a sympathetic villain stuck in the past.

All five of these stories are connected to one another long before Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom came about. Majora's Mask is a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time; Wind Waker is the result of what happened after Ocarina of Time in one alternative timeline; Twilight Princess is the third installment to both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (according to me); and Skyward Sword is the genesis of all four of them. An honorable mention goes to the Minish Cap because of how simple it is, but nothing really impactful in terms of characters or setting.

...Except for Vaati. Now there's an underrated Zelda villain who needs a comeback.

The only reason I think Twilight Princess gets overlooked by some is because it is a very long game, so you don't get the story in quick succession. But the characters you meet along the way that don't necessarily intertwine with the main plot are still rewarding experiences. I gotta say, TP is often my favorite Zelda game... Depending on the day you ask me. If you could only play one Zelda title for the rest of your life... What would it be? I've struggled with this question for years.

I love how the Link from The Wind Waker is technically just some dude that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the goddesses were all, "Well, you'll do."

I cannot agree harder with your S-tier placements. Personally I'd put Skyward Sword up there too, but A-tier is fine.

What I can't agree with is Ocarina placing so high. It's a B-tier. It set the standard going forward. Par_, not "A". It's the game to _beat if you wanna be an "A". Also BotW is a "C". It's not good. Its story is kinda bad. It tried, but it failed. Personally I think TotK is a "B" as well, but I'll put that down to preference.

Regardless of all our personal opinions on the series , it's pretty special that every game is pretty damn good. I love them all equally :)

For me it's OoT, then Majora, then Wind Waker. Majora is my favorite game overall though. Just found the story of OoT slightly more gripping.

For me I'll probably keep Twilight Princess at the top. The journey for Link and the story surrounding Midna was fantastic. One of the more emotional games for me in the franchise.

But honestly, a solid tier list here.

They all belong in the last place. They are all mediocre, but the gameplay is great. No one plays them for the story, this is not final fantasy

The open-ended nature of the 2D games IS the point. You write your own story though the gameplay, that's the beauty of an open-world exploration game. The thinnest existence of a frame story in that context is a feature, not a bagu.

Putting botw on the same level as OoT is crazy. Botw has no plot and the story it attempts to tell is so boring. OoT is one of if not the best video game stories of all time.
