All this happens after he receives the diagnosis and discovers that he will not die from cancer. Deep down, he wanted to die. But he won't anymore, so Walt decides to keep cooking and take up the mantle of Heisenberg for real.

It took me way too long to figure out that Walt having to listen to Hanks stories of an exciting life is pissing him off to no end here. His life has been completely boring, and here his son is hearing endless stories of a colourful father figure he could only dream of being. Walt JR is hanging on Hanks every word. He’s fuming with jealousy, and he becomes self destructive to give himself any form of control in the situation. That’s why in Felina, Walt says he did it for himself. “I was good at it. I was… alive.”

The writing in this scene is genius. Walt Jr isn't used to drinking alcohol and he pukes right after a couple of shots of Tequilla.

A father teaching his son about alcohol consumption and the after effects . the beta male simp tried to exercise authority over the father's own home . in the male animal kingdom beta male simps are always testing the strongest of the domain the alpha . hence the male alpha needs to check the beta male simp and remind him where he stands and to never cross that line again . A LESSON TO ALL THE ALPHAS NEVER LET A SIMP CROSS THE LINE IN YOUR OWN HOUSE !!! THIS ALSO APPLIES TO FAMILY . NEVER ALLOW YOUR OWN FAMILY COME TO YOUR OWN HOME AND TRY THIS CRAP . This scene sums it perfectly. Walt knows he is the top dog but he just cannot sell it. At this point in the narrative Walt makes a killing on the drug market but gets no respect for it, yet in this scene he feels himself in control by demanding the tequila bottle. Its the only strength in the real world he has. By forcing Walt Jn to drink is just him testing what he can do as the man in charge. This is the only opportunity he has had to exert his dominance.

In the end I understand Walter. He was such a loser with no personality who starts cooking meth because he is dying and his ego explodes.

this scene was awesome, Walt took charge and showed Hank he doesn't get to control his life. Walt went too far, but Hank had been going to far for way too long. Acting like a hard working man is a pussy is a dangerous game to play. Keep note Hank is a DEA agent who is enabling a kid to do drugs in this scene. Hank is a douchebag

Hank is so loveable. I know it's the whole point but Im so sad he's dead.

Hank could have gone along with it to "be a bro", but he knew right from wrong enough to put a stop to the macho posturing while calmly attempting to defuse the situation, ready to fight back if necessary.

This whole series wouldn’t happen if Hank show who is the real men much much earlier.

I think Walt was sick of Hank's shit. Hank may be good at his job, but he's annoying as shit. Also, Walt, after facing death, just wanted to have a drink with his son.

Alcohol such crazy drug . That first encounter with alcohol can either make that youth a drunk or make him disgusted by the thought of alcohol.

I swear that this scene looks more like a documentary or some real recording, rather than an acting scene. The level of acting is just too realistic, it's incredible.

Tbh Hank overdid it sometimes. Yea Walt wasn’t the perfect father but geez bruv you’d swear Hank was the dad and Walt was the uncle. Finn kinda ain’t fair either , I mean how would he feel if Walt treated his nephew or someone more like his son.

The dude was just fed up with Hank being the center of attention, and a phony and this isn't the first time Walt ' punked' Hank, he began doing that early in the first season with the Poker game.. This was Walt ' dick slinging'. He changed.... He was not Drunk.
