Aerial of Sarasota and Surrounding Keys in 4k

It took me 25 minutes to drive to my charter boat on north Lonboat Key from Golden Gate Point at 6 AM and 2 hrs to drive home at 4 PM. So, I would work on my boat till 8:30 PM and get home by 9AM. That didn't leave much time for enjoying the vaunted "Sarasota Lifestyle"

Yes, watching this one for the 3rd time! I have a lifelong friend in Sarasota, and though I have been to Tampa, Clearwater, never down to Sarasota, so I am excited that is one of the stops I will stay a few days or a week here! I can hardly wait to scooter around and also roller skate outside ! :)

Bought a vacation home in Sarasota 14 years ago but sold it last year. The last few years, traffic jam, concrete everywhere, massive malls emerging. I saw this gorgeous town changed from a pretty quiet and peaceful seaside town to an extremely busy, crowded (car and people) place. Also, the surrounding area has traded his beauty and tropical vegetation for concrete, massive malls, and roads. I remember Siesta beach been a beautiful beach but few years ago the town thought it was a good idea to pour concrete everywhere.

Damn I miss this place. My grandparents use to live here...

I live near Fruitville Road and McIntosh Road. I moved from New Jersey and I am never moving back. Trick to living in Sarasota is make sure you work hard and get a good job.

We went to see my grandpa and grandma in Florida and drove though Sarasota and then we were there like 1h later they live by Anna Maria island

sounds as bad as Detroit, they show 2 or 3 hotels that were just built, but the true Detroit, is disgusting as hell, pure trash. It used to be nice years ago when whites lived there, know yuckkkkkkkkkk . they keep calling it BLACK DETROIT THEY WERE NOT THE ONES THAT LIVED IN DETROIT FOR MANY MANY YEARS, just in the past few years, they have destroyed it in the few years they have been there. its not black Detroit, r u kidding me. the real Detroiters are white. Italians, polish ETC. , also the people from the SOUTH, only came to live in DETROIT to work at the BIG 3. I live I love it

I went to Ringling School of Art in Sarasota in 1963! I loved it, but it has changed! It still has a lot to offer but Long Boat key used to be beautiful and natural and I wish money had not been the winning factor! Also the sugar industry and others have poisoned the waters on both coasts and huge algae blooms cause sea life death and toxic air to breath! Everybody seems to live with it, as if it's natural, and they don't realize we're all frogs in a slowly heating pot! We're learning how to get use to the heat, but eventually we'll be cooked!
