ОтветитьHere’s the thing Curt; STOP CALLING THEM ‘DEALS’!!!
ОтветитьEvery rapper or singer I have heard about has had a deal if you want to be a commercial success without a deal you'll need at least a 100k
Ответить“Dave” just gave us horrible advice
ОтветитьFirst video I’m seein of you, funny asf 😂
ОтветитьHe didn't add the part where they reject your best songs and then give it to another artiste on the label, because anything you submit is theirs. And if they want to keep you on the plantation, all they need to do is to keep rejecting your music.
Ответитьat a label if you question the exec they shelve u. they llike to be praised like god.
Ответитьits all bs trust me, im siigned. label execs suck mostly

Ответитьppl forget they keep coming back saying "do it again, do it again, do it again", it doesn't work like that to where they accept everything you create when you're shackled, lol i mean on "contract", and don't let yo ass be in a situation where you don't re-coupe all the money back, YOU WILL BE IN THE RED FOREVA(Cardi B voice) lol
Ответитьi don't trust em, he seem too friendly lol
ОтветитьThat white man was brought to you by, The Recording Industry…
HMYWB he’s somebodies cousin??
F these labels! If you’re even being offered this type of money it means keep grinding! They see something in you that you may not see yet. Form an LLC, learn how to set up a publishing company through BMI/ASCAP, learn how to register your songs for both copyrights, find a digital distributor that lets you keep 100% ownership of your music. These new artist are catching on & it’s beautiful to see.
ОтветитьCan you just let the video run and stop talking ? And after give us your thoughts? Skipped you all the way , so I don’t even know what they are
ОтветитьEverything you said is spot on ✊🏾
ОтветитьThis is the way that record companies acted (and probably still act!). I turned down an offer from a major record label in 1977. I was offered what was a "standard" package deal: 3 years, 3 albums, $125,000 advance. (Yes, I said "advance" - it was a loan, to be paid back in record sales.) That money was for recording expenses. Unfortunately though, other people got a piece of it. (My agent got 10% off the top as his fee for finding me the deal.) Stuff like Amazon, Spotify, etc did not exist in the '70s. I am glad now that I walked away, but at the time it was the only game in town. And yes, we were supposed to feel appreciative that we were offered these deals.
Ответить2 words every artist should know are “recoupable” and “perpetuity”
