Discussing the difference during groundwork in yielding or disengaging the hindquarter to stop vs. a true stop. Both are necessary, but only the first is commonly taught, resulting in horses that are heavy(ier) on the forehand and automated to yield hind without being asked. Using the natural balance point of a herd animal refines our communication and helps make our horses safer to be around on the ground. PS - Sorry about the noisy cicadas!

My mare ! She has a lot of go but no stop,I have to pull her head around and go in circles until she stops..

Hallelujah! My mare does this and I didn't know what to do to stop it. This week's homework is to stop the turn in.

👍👍 He had what I'd call a little spatial respect issue, too, which might be related to the turn in issue. I noticed that when standing he was always trying to edge into your space...he'd be resting in your hip pocket if he could've!
