My 16 year old niece from Sydney is at it. They're calling the UK scouts withdrawal Brexit Pt.2!! 😂

And Korea has such beautiful land, too. Why didn't they put the Jamboree in a regional/national park? Shoving the scouts onto stinky, flat and dead land akin to a salt pan is something I've come to expect from Korea when it comes to large aggregations of foreigners in their country. Korean officials are afraid of the eyesore that a huge group of foreigners creates for the locals, unless of course the foreigners break up into smaller groups and visit Seoul and spend lots of money. I remember Korea's abandoned plans for a "foreigners' trade area" that was likewise to be located at the end of a peninsula on the west coast, far away from the Korean populace, and far away from where any real trade would take place in the actual Korean economy!

It's not just the hottest weeks of the year, but they put them to a desert instead of a forest next to a lake.

The weather agencies are reporting we've been having record-breaking heat waves. People can pass out and even die from heat exhaustion or heatstroke. There were also cases of covid going around, that combined with heatstroke could kill a person. The conditions were poor and resources were limited at this site as well. Also sexual abuse allegations. The site was not secure. If you love your kids, you worry about their health first, and not wanting to have cool pictures to put on Instagram for bragging rights. Safety first, isn't that the first rule of scouts? Calling someone a helicopter parent because they're concerned for their child's security is name calling, bullying, neglect, irresponsibility, and immaturity because it's either your way or the highway. Remember safety first, always.

I mean Korea in summer??? At least there’s a lot of good people there who worked to improve things! God bless them!

Just don't understand why World Scout body, they have to have the World Jamboree in the hottest months in summer... They should have learned from Japan when they hosted it... I won't recommend your children going for this

When I was a kid, I didn't think anything about being outside playing hard, riding bikes, and building forts in temperatures between 100° and 115°F.
This is why electronics and kids being in the house 24/7 is ruining lives.
What happens if we have a world power failure? Will people or die from heat? This scares me! I am one of those people who needs the heat during the winter, but the heat doesn't bother me so much.

I am so sorry. Recently Korea government is so crazy about everything….. and hopefully I never want that you get bad atmosphere about Korea because of this happening

Although the day was too short for the initial heat wave measures,
Now the government is then and many soldiers are trying to improve with companies.

Don't worry . A lot of things are improved compared with the first and second day . Now 38,000 scouts from 153 countries except UK and US are adoping and enjoying with the hot weather. They will stay at the jamboree camp until the last day for happy ending.

Brave brave people for trusting their kids to the korean authority considering their history with school kids.

A Scout smiles and whistles under all circumstances.
