I reckon there might be specialist boat types and marine unit types that make this faction powerful on water, I just hope they aren't just a reskinned sturgia which already has lots of two handed, shield wall and lack of cavalry ish

Is this being released on PS4 as well? I just finished the actual campaign for the first time today, so am very interested in more lol. Unfortunately mods don't exist on PS4.

The only mod I really want is GoT or LotR...

Hopefully, the Nords don't have any calvary, and instead, they replace them with berserkers that are a bit faster/tanker.

what I would like to see is something like raiding coastal village is twice as fast and yield twice as much loot as usual. I would also like to see dual-wield with some of the Nord's shock troops. Considering they are based off the Norse, it would make sense to have dual-wield marine berserker and 2hander land berserker. A negative would be that their armies get slower the further inland they gets.

I need to stop commenting half way in videos.. I am convinced the Sturgian are based off warband's Vygar(I am certain I got the other northen faction's name wrong) They had some cavalry and a pretty good heavy cav, wich I think are the sturgian noble unit in bannerlord.

i kinda wish they went back and made sturgia more distinctly slavic and give some old sturgian troops/gear to the nords. It feels like sturgia was intended to be a stand-in fro the nords at launch and bringing actual nords in will just muddy things up. Also i think nords could have a light skirmisher cav with javeleins or throwing axes play well with their raider identity, also i would not like their infantry to be the heaviest in the game, it feels odd that raiders from some backwater would be better equipped than a continental empire but they should definetly have really big and durable shields.

Hearing people wanting “Berserkers” as a unit type is just so wack. I know they won’t make any of that. Closest thing to a “Berserker” is the line breaker for sturgia. Even they were inspired from Housecarls.

I would've like to see more maps like they were doing before where a territory on the map would reflect the battle map. Would be cool to see where your fighting a battle and tou see onira city in the background for example. Ibwonder where that development went?

I mean even with mods this game has the worst AI moduls and behavior.
Especially in battles its like playing against tetris puzzle on the slowest and lowest lvl .
I dont understand why the people are giving this much credit and attention, this might be the worst game ever made when
it comes to coding and AI behavior moduls.
They invested so much in UI and frontend but they hire junior devs to do their backend.

Do we think that they will remove the Nord parts from the Sturgia faction and rework the remains to closer resemble the Vaegir from Warband? Because the way I understood it, Sturgia was not really meant to be the Eastern European faction, and instead they kind of combined the Nord and the Vaegir into Sturgia in Bannerlord, to save faction slots, which was a wild decision, but taking this back seems to require more than just adding the Nord back in, when so much of them already is in the game.

Sturgia needs to take a hard turn towards the Vaegirs or it will be the Spidermen meme all over.

I still can’t believe they got rid of that grouping system. I use to put all of my tier 1 soldiers in a group and let them fight bandits to level them up or kill off the weak lol

My main issue is the factions theme. I worry it will be way too close to sturgia and maybe a little of battania when it comes to their armors and weapons. I don’t want to be confused about who is on the battlefield. Even looking at the trailer for warsails the Sturgian ships look really similar to Viking style longboats…

Personally, I think that the Nords should be mostly focused around heavy infantry. Vikings didn’t really use heavy cavalry (or even light cavalry). But they did have incredibly heavy armor—especially the huscarls, who wore armor comparable to a Frankish or Saxon heavy cavalryman.

I am gonna go with the Empire still. Having the most cultural settlements kind of makes it easier to manage towns. But i do hope they add a feature to push out one culture and replace it with the player's culture. Perhaps as a passive Town policy

..... ive slapped like 30 hours in this game again in the last week.... gotten nowhere due to cheats and ressetting but finnaly got a good base but this dlc might make me get back into a true game lol

Some thoughts from a nerd who's read a good chunk of the Icelandic sagas:
- Heavy war bows but expensive archers (they do show up, they do stupid damage, I've read at least one saga where a Norseman found another culture's bows to have a laughably light draw but I don't remember which it was), and upper tier archers should be just as well equipped as line infantry, and capable of holding their own in a fight
- All infantry should have a shield, even peasants
- Shields should be stupid tough to compensate for slightly lower armor at lower tiers
- Húskarlar, Varangians, any of that style of unit with longaxes and chonky armor should be expensive and rare but absolute units on the battlefield that just refuse to die
- Berserkir and/or Úlfheðnarr should be at the end of the heavy/light trees (former maybe branching into Berserkir and Húskarlar, the former with less armor but substantially higher speed and skill and damage, the latter with shields, backup weapon, and generally much stouter in combat) - I do think it'd be a nice touch to have Varangian style units with some Imperial armor as stupid expensive elites but I'm not sure where I'd put them or how I'd balance them
- Slight bonus to speed at sea, massive boost to speed when pursuing an enemy fleet
- Have a movement speed loss for other cultures traveling on rivers, but not for the Nords
- Higher chance to get equipment loot from battles (I've lost count of how many sagas someone gets killed and stripped of their equipment in)
- Very good AP and shield damage
Either raiding speed or plunder massively improved
- Massively increased drawbacks for faction decisions, or massively reduced growth and income from cities
- Throwing weapons common but not universal
- Generally high weapon skill on average
- Probably a massive hit to coherency after battles
- Absolutely no cavalry, but spearmen should be stout enough to counter most cavalry decently well

Should basically be able to tank decently well with basic infantry, but upper tiers should present the options of being EITHER an unmoving wall OR an infantry wrecking ball that can give cataphracts a run for their money. They're never going to be as fast as Vlandians or Khuzaits on land or well rounded as the Empire. The forests of Batannia should be a good counter to Nord shieldwalls by breaking up their formation. Khuzaits probably would be a hard counter to them in the field, Empire in sieges. Batannia, on open ground, probably ground beef. Vlandians and Aserai I think would be soft counters depending on what's present - knights could probably punch through all but the most elite heavy infantry, and the highest tier Aserai archers should probably still outshoot them. So picking battles carefully, or avoiding battles outright and going for more vulnerable targets, should be a higher priority than normal.

Also horns. Viking Conquest had them, they were cool. Doesn't even matter if they do nothing, it's still cool. Although something like a morale or speed boost would be nice.

They could use sea raiding and introduce trade routes or expand on the caravans so it is at sea as well. This means there are more options for raiding.

bannerlord did NOT need a new faction...it needed to improve kingdom mechanics...Ruling kingdom feels totally disconnected from your vassals and your kingdom in general...

I just wish they made Sturgia as they intended, a Kievan Rus inspired proto vaegir faction (Rus Principalities). Although the nobility came from Scandinavia they got influenced from Byzantine, Slavic and eastern nomadic cultures simply because the majority of people were Slavs and nomads.

I’m picturing eastern style pointed helmets, kite shields or small round shields, lots of axes and spears but saber wielding cuman like light cavalry and skirmishers
