I was 4 years old when Resident Evil 2 came out in 1998 it was a big deal back then It's one of best games of All Time long with The Last Of Us, The Last Of Us Part 2 also Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 2 Remake and many other games!!!🇯🇵

Resident Evil 2 was a masterpiece. Resident Evil 2 remake is a bastardized version of that Masterpiece. it's still pretty good but people need to quit throwing that term around too freely.

This is just my opinion but the Resident Evil 2 Remake isn't at all a masterpiece for one there's a lot of cut content away from that made the original so memorable like the creepy spiders which they could've made scary as hell in the remake.. the guns are weaker than in the original zombies literally tank shotgun blasts unless you hit their head.. the only think I really like about this game is the level design.. and don't get me started on the horrible voice acting... leon Is OK but he looks like a Justin beiber soy boy wanna be.. ada voice actor is terrible and this game along with re4r ruined adas character in every aspect pssible.. anyways this game is garbage go ahead and cry to me on how I'm wrong there's people who can't help themselves but again ITS AN OPINION

Bro ik every horror game got that one section you dread but theres no way they were sane when putting those 3 fish monsters onto the way to get the queen piece… on hardcore when ammo is scarce

I can agree completely as I said before RE2 is my all time favorite of the series, and as a fan of the series I was scptecal with the idea of a remake of 2 but once we got it I fell in love with it😁

Not a masterpiece. It was good don't get me wrong, but masterpiece means it would have had to have done everything the original did but better. When I think masterpiece I think RE1 Remake.

These past months I finally played RE7, 3make and 8, and I really loved those, especially 7 and Viilage. But yesterday I got RE2make for another playtrough and MAN. This game works so well with the stalker character, you're always on the edge of you sit, choosing the best route from the save room to the place you have to go, and so on, dealing with enemies without wasting ammo. This game is so stressful and that's why it's so great. Even tho I like 7 and 8 a bit better (because I love batshit insane horror stories), RE2 is a much better designed videogame, that it might aswell be the best in the entire series.

I'm tired of all these fake newbies that can't even go back to play the OG games. The alligator was in the OG RE2. Capcom almost didn't include it for REmake 2, but through fan push back, they did.

RE2 Remake is how I got into the franchise in the first place and it’s made me go back and play the other games. Still trying to make time to finish the series ;)

Part of what made the original RE2 was the A/B scenarios. The original game used a technique called zapping, which meant that choices made in the A scenarios impacted on the B scenarios. Example? You find a weapons locker near the exit of the police station with a machine gun and a fanny pack that added 2 inventory slots to the character. Pick either or both of them up in the A scenario, you couldn't get them in the B scenario. The fact that things like this weren't in the remake is a bit disappointing.

Then there's the actual differences between A and B scenarios. Different starting locations, leading to different playing experiences. You get some of that in the remake but the split is mainly between the characters rather than the scenarios. The game is much the same in both cases after you leave the police station for the first time.

Still, the remake is one of the best games of the last few years. It's spooky in the right places, has a heavier emphasis on action towards the end and it is just generally good fun.

Re2 was my first playstation game, like many other fans I was a little disappointed in the lack of content remix in the b scenario. However, both are still amazing. Quite frankly, I think getting hung up repeating the same story with minor changes and expecting a whole nother game after the stories told is kind of lame.

The only exception is the Leon A and claire A that meet Marvin and the final boss battle in the end of Leon B or Claire B but outside of that there's no difference

RE2 Remake is my least favorite RE game. I found it to be tedious and Mister X was more of a nuisance than anything

You get a better campaign and a story that makes more sense (as well as a more competent and likeable protagonist) by starting with Claire A. :)

The explanation for the plot holes in the two campaigns not lining up are simply: they got lazy in that area. Still a great game though. I find those tank controls insufferable so I appreciated this remake.

In reference to being scared, I grew up with an 8 year older brother in the 80s and as a result watched a metric shit ton of crazy horror flicks way younger than I probably should have lol. But the funny thing is I love the feeling of being scared but in a controlled situation. Scary movies, video games, haunted houses and hayrides on Halloween lol. Just that feeling of being scared for your safety while also knowing you aren't actually in any harm. Fear let's you know you're alive and have something to live for. On the flip side this "fun fear" is addictive like a drug so for decades I've been watching every scary movie I can get my hands on, going to multiple spook walks and haunted houses every October and just in general taking part in scary but harmless activities trying to chase that thing that makes me feel afraid , but you get like a sort of a desensitization to it so it becomes harder and harder to find that next good scare.
Sorry for the run on sentence, not so great at expressing thoughts in a text format but I was just curious as to how many other horror fans out there get the same feeling as me when trying to get skeered 😬🤣🤣

While I love re2remake its a shame the different scenarios are seperate from eachother, that being said ive finished the game 3-4 times so far. Love it to bits and intend to play it every halloween (which ive done so far with the re3remake, since it being so short helped)

Might help the story make a little more sense for you if you know that the cannon story path is Claire's A scenario then Leon B's scenario. That's technically the cannon path. Though I do think the A/B scenarios fell short of what they were in OGRE2.

My issue with the success of this Remake is that, now they are remaking RE4 using the same tone and concept. Which most likely means it will essentially be RE2 remake with RE4 skin and plot. RE4 was not successful because it copied what the previous games did. It was successful because it ditched the previous games' tones and mechanics and introduced fresh new concepts and mechanics. It was refreshing, not to mention, it did not take itself too seriously. I watched the RE4 Remake trailers and I am very concerned that the charm that made the original so attractive is lost. Hopefully I am proved wrong once the game comes out.

re2 2019 was a masterpiece only for weak-minded Americans who think the original was too hard because it didn't have enough bullets and healing items...if you don't like survival horror games then DONT PLAY THE DAMN GAME! after a lot of whining about the remake was Americanized (Americanized in videogames refers to lowering the difficulty, tune down the story making it simpler and add a lot of action scenes and or American flags/demonizing minorities/soldiers/attention to weapons ) as someone who played the original I felt awful playing that game oriented to people with learning difficulties. the bosses are made in a way in which you just need to dodge for 5 minutes then shoot once and then you win. there is no struggle, no resource management, there is NO SURVIVAL HORROR just horror as in it is a horror that butchered one good game for the sake of the weak-minded! i played the game and was surprised by the amount of ammo and healing items I got in comparison to the original. by the time I finished the game I had a shit ton of ammo, healing items, and gunpowder and I made it so if I couldn't fit something in my inventory I would store my ammo in the box and never use it again. the same for the healing items and damn I had a lot of easy mode trash despite not being in normal but in a harder difficulty

Of all the examples of movie remakes you could have chosen to use you chose True Grit...which isn't a remake of the John Wayne film from the late 60s but rather another adaptation of the source material. Any of the Platinum Dunes slasher remakes would have been more apt.
