Nobunaga Oda was considered ahead of his time by many. Nobunaga the Fool he was called and he used this moniker to his advantage but was just as compassionate as he was cruel. Like Cao Cao before him, he felt it necessary to become the villian in order to achieve a greater good. Often seen as a Demon King of sorts.

There is a legend regarding Sunomata Castle. It was said that Sunomata Castle was built in a single day during Nobunaga's invasion of Mino and this feat by Hideyoshi was reflected in Koei's Samurai Warriors video game series.

My Grandmother's Grandfather was an Akechi. My family doesn't know if he was related to Mitsuhide, but he probably was a descendant to a member of his court that took his name. What we know is that he changed his name because he didn't like being associated with a traitor. I understand him, but Oda Nobunaga was a tyrant so I would have preferred him to keep the name
