No matter what you use, these cracks will come back the following seasons.
Especially north east which experiences hot summers, cold winters.
Lots of movement from freeze and thaw process.
I do appreciate the video though thank you
ОтветитьWhat I don't understand why guys make videos and boost a product but never mention where to get it. The common sense of the average person is going down 😅😅😅 I truly believe that. All that trouble of creating a video and never mentions where person can get it especially when he says he tried so many other ones. Totally unreal
ОтветитьThis junk flaked off after following directions
Junk
This type of Sealcoat is garbage . You get what you pay for . It’s little more then black water .
ОтветитьGood video of how not to do this😂
ОтветитьTwo mistakes that are going to shorten the life of the job. You didn't pull the vegetation (weeds) and you sealed over dirt. Wire brush and soap and water.
Ответитьi've had mine done " Professionally twice by 2 different companies and they don't even come close to the quality I can do myself . Fill those larger pitted areas with a crack filler before using the sealer . ALL these sealers come from 2 national companies that are owned by one larger company so don't get draw-in with the " Fancy " advertising .... there are only two types , Economy and PREMIUM >>> you choose !!!
ОтветитьI have done this and it's a complete waste of money and time.
ОтветитьPeter, you've probably paid a high premium for the trowel grade Latex--ITE filler sealer, compared to the same size container of the latex final sealing product. Just buy one extra pail of the sealer product and create your own low cost trowel grade filler. For every two parts of latex/acrylic sealer, add two parts of clean washed sand (Playsand sold for children's sandboxes at the Home Depot) and add one part portland cement. Because the latex/acrylic sealer is water based, it will activate the portland cement in the mixture.
You can thicken the mixture for wide cracks and depressions, or you can thin the mixture to a "pour grade" to pour into very thin cracks. The product dries very quickly, with minimal shrinkage and creates a rock hard bond to the base asphalt driveway.
Driveway repair products have risen dramatically in recent years, along with other petroleum products and the "accessory products", such as special fillers can add drastically to the project cost. Save some money and have greater flexibility with the product.
I had my driveway seal coated with the exact same stuff now the people hired maliciously dumped water on part of it then I went out and bought the next step better than this one the ten-year driveway sealant !
Ответитьwhich is the best lasting brand? please anyone ?
ОтветитьLOVE that u gave before & after pics. Most don't. Thanks for the to-the-point informative video.
ОтветитьWhere to buy australia
ОтветитьYou can't mix latex and oil sealer. Stick to what you have.
Ответитьhrm I don't see a difference. the cracks are still there
ОтветитьInteresting intro, your driveway is in poor shape, how long since the last time you sealed and what did you really apply?
ОтветитьI have an old cement patio that needs resurfaced. Also, aggregate staircase. About 50 years old. Product to use?
ОтветитьPour it out of the bucket, use a squeegee and an old push broom with stiff bristles, wear some old shoes and pants you can afford to throw away . You’re welcome
ОтветитьUse trowel patch instead and then seal over it
ОтветитьThe only real way to repair HMAC driveways is to hire a crew with the right equipment.
You have two options because crack seal is fugly:
Remove and Replace
Or
Hire a contractor with a heated repaving rig, meaning they heat the asphalt up to about 300 degrees and repave it. Definitely more cost effective.
HMAC means Hot Mixed Asphaltic Concrete

ОтветитьWhy not make a towel on a handle and swezzing onto the drive and fill in the driveway
ОтветитьAny reason to not coat the entire driveway with a filler? I just bought a house with a pretty rough-condition driveway. (Old with lots of alligatoring and thinned out asphalt). Spending $300 on these is way cheaper than buying a new driveway and if it lasts for a few years, it might be worth it. Any thoughts?
ОтветитьIt took me 2.5 gallon of latexite optimum for a 900 sq ft driveway. I used another 1.5 gallons as a second coat about 2 hrs later. Turned out great - took me 4 full hrs. You need to mix a lot.
ОтветитьSir, this is a finishing driveway sealer. For heavier cracks use a filler instead.
ОтветитьSo, how did it hold up 1 1/2 yrs later? Did the cracks open back up?
ОтветитьHome Depot $20!
ОтветитьDon't you have 2 grind out cracks
ОтветитьHey Peter. I was wondering if you have used other Latexite driveway sealers too, such as the more pricey ones? If so, do you find the Airport Grade is the best?
Ответитьlove this product it works great!!! it does it all small to large ones, Buy this product!!!!
ОтветитьWhere do you find this product?
ОтветитьI got a rash on my butt from wetness for days without knowledge. Is there a sealant that will work wonders like this product does on a canvas. Please get back to me k
ОтветитьCan this stuff be used to fill in small potholes in a parking lot in between getting the parking lot resealed?
ОтветитьDo I need to use a crack filler or trowel patch first before applying it?
ОтветитьHOLY SHIT! I go looking for a video on asphalt repair and find an old friend! Nice video, Pete! I'm glad you're out there doing awesome.
ОтветитьWait brother, isn’t this the same product used as a final sealer? Because if that’s the case I won’t have to buy a patch to fi this gator cracks
ОтветитьI like how it looks... thanks
ОтветитьNaaahghghghgh.....
What do you mean "Airport Quality???"
Airports don't use asphalt on the runways, they use concrete. Just l👀k at the asphalt in your driveway, can you imagine how bad a runway would be with Jumbo Jets landing on it...🤣🤔🤣
Wow Peter, good instruction and clear before/after. I'm going to try it!
ОтветитьDid I understand correctly that I'd have to seal the whole driveway with something else afterward?
ОтветитьGreat job, super informative and well done
ОтветитьPete! I just found this video looking to fix up my driveway, 🤗
Ответитьcan this product be added to cement driveways?
ОтветитьThank you Mr. Von Panda! 🐼 We have a lot of “gatoring” . Now I feel more confident doing it!
ОтветитьCan this go on top of cement patched area?
ОтветитьI've watched a few of your videos gathering information on different products and situations. I appreciate the info I'm about to attempt a patch and resurface DIY driveway job myself and these videos very helpful. Thanks again!
ОтветитьSo what happens if it actually does rain within 24 hours of putting this stuff on? Does it just take longer to cure, or is it somehow ruined forever?
ОтветитьI got the Latexite 10 yr and the Gardner 10. Both were soupy and watery as all hell from Home Depot
Nothing like what you have. How can I get this? I've been screwed twice now.
Why do you have to leave the buckets upside down?
