For me a good show is one that deals with current events of the time it was airing or the time it was set in. All in the family, welcome back Kotter, Cheers, The Wonder Years, Married with Children, Saved by the Bell (corny, but who didn't like that show as a kid or teenager in the 90s?), etc. At least in my opinion.

the sopronos has to be #1 in my opinion seasons 4-5 captured me and my attention like no other show ever has. breaking bad, GOT, the wire and peeky blinders round out my five favorites
