Fear The Walking Dead S1E6: Walkers Invade The Military Base

I don't get the incompetence of this scene.
Those both soldiers would have been enough to kill all 2,000 zombies since they are so slow and after a while their bodies would create a barricade.
You can see the writers got lazy and set their accuracy to "Stormtrooper" literally shooting at the ground.

Also the military would have placed scouts and snipers to see incoming hordes or gangsters from a far. Not to mention, that they build a base behind a huge corner lol.
We also have seen the military use grenades before in the library and they had tanks, why is no one using anything?

I'm sorry, did no one, absolutely no one think to call in air support?! And do they have zero heavy weapons?! I didn't see a single .50 cal anywhere. Is there not a single Bradley or Abrams to fight with?!
Also it seems like they did absolutely zero reconnaissance of the area, meaning they were completely oblivious to what was happening in the area.

Stormtroopers could shoot better than these guys.

how come the soldier dont aim the head....nah, set on full-auto and dont aim the head .......and no fucking tank or Grenade-launcher or hand grenade. other shit zombie movie and the stupid women stay put and look left and right ......

This scene is a joke but Rick taking on a horde with a hammer waa badass. Some real closet sexuality issues there.

So no grenades, no mortars, no air support, no explosives of any kind. And they apparently stop aiming once the zombies hit the fence. Got it.

Ycan see how this would be a cool scene, but the budget, and writing talent held it back, even made the poor vfx artist add "metal flare" because of course bullets would bounce off a aluminum fence..

Cant we have at least one movie/series that portrays military vs zombie battles in a cool way, without stupid nonsence like soldiers being totally useless?

Why do they bother standing like 10 meters away from the fence? Zombies don't have ranged weapons and you can just point the gun in their faces. Or why didn't they bother putting up anything studier than a chain link fence or even reinforce it by parking a car or armored vehicle next to the fence?
It's always difficult to show how an even halfway competent military couldn't handle the zombies and this really fails to do so.

I like how as soon as the zombies get near the fence they become bullet proof, and the fence itself somehow absorbs gunfire like it's made out of thick steel. What a joke.

This scene really baffles me. What were the writers/director going for here? Showing a bunch of well armed soldiers shooting point blank at slow zombies only to miss every shot is not scary at all. It doesnt build the threat of the zombies, or even the incompetence of the soldiers, if that was what the writer/director was going for. It just makes the scene frustrating to watch. Needless to say this is where i stopped watching this tv show. A real shame since it had a strong start.

Highly trained soldiers fail to kill one zombie, if this was real then those zombies would be dead before they reach the fences.

godi hate the walking dead just for how incompetent the survivors are and how they drag out the series and unthreatening and un scary the zombies are.

It's scenes like this that turn me off from series/movies. Making military/police forces incompetent because the writers are lazy is a major pet peeve for me.

how tf does a military base lose THAT BAD to the hordes of walkers with armored cars, grenades, possibly tanks or atgm launchers, machine guns and assault rifles??? plus i feel like they should've called for CAS if they even had any. an a-10 warthog and a couple of black hawks could've done it

Honestly? This scene could've been remedied by having a whole lot more deadites. As in, CGI a whole CITY worth in the background. Have the soldiers kill some (and shoot accurately), and then have the combined wieght of corpses and undead be too much for the fences. Put in enough undeads, and the scene would've been working.
