As badly as the mum behaved I am sure this young boy wasn't being some saint. I'm sure he was doing something inappropriate or dangerous to make her snap. Overall take your child and go home. Don't put your hands on other people's kids purely because if this kid is a misbehaving hooligan his parents most likely are as well.

Technically, the boy could hit the I'm not saying he should but self-defense. The woman attacked him illegally detained him, so he within his rights could easily use whatever force with that was required in order to get her off of him and do not exceeds anything else, so even if he did hit her, she could not claim that. Oh, this boy hit me because it would be on video. She first assaulted him, showing that he had no probable Cos 2 be hit on.
