Very interesting! So, if focused X-rays and gamma-rays at the speed of light were jetted into our neighborhood, are there slower/heavier particles still headed our way?

It's simple!
E = mc²
Black holes.
E = E
No black holes anymore.
It's simple!

You are a good teacher. Thank you so much for explaining this so well so us who aren’t educated in it can understand clearly.

Bruh how was it so accurate or was it just a general burst our direction and would be know if it took one year to kill us? By the effect on our atmosphere?
Also such an explosion don't we need to worry about everything heading in our general direction now?

A billion light years away... I would think that within a billion light years there must be more than a few million potential sources for gama ray bursts. Talk about a "loose cannon"!

WR 104 is a bit further than the one that may have caused the LOME/OS extinction at between 7000-8800LY away compared to 6000

Thank you, Anton, for this intriguing video. This Gamma Ray Burst was truly awesome! Presumably, this will lead to a greater detection of cosmic rays? It would also be interesting to see if the ongoing experiments to measure the frequency of neutrinos will yield more results as a result of this enormously powerful burst of cosmic energy.

"2.1 Billion lightyears away"
Wow, I've heard of these things outshining their own galaxy by far, but I did not expect such a remote object to outshine OUR galaxy up close in the same frequency by that much.

The fact that it completely obscures all nearby sources of gamma within our galaxy (Band on the left I think?) and is amazing and horrifying when you think of how far away it must be.

I feel sorry for any civilizations living in the galaxy that this GRB originated from who happened to be in the crosshairs of those jets. If it affected our ionosphere after 2 billion light years, I'd imagine any civilization on a planet just a few thousand light years away from it got wiped out so instantaneously they didn't even have time to realize they were dead... Insanity.
