This 2023 evo sf6 grand final had disconnected controller, but since the players didn't pause and the opponent let the guy reconnect there were no penalties. You can really see the character of people in those moments

Pausing shouldn't be treated so harshly, but at the same time it should since a pause literally throws your opponent off their game and gives you time to breath and maybe make a comeback, but at the same time not all pausing is done on purpose.

I hate it cause of the way i hit buttons on my controller (the bottom of my thumb/the first line) ill sometimes pause the game for a split second and it happens at random times. If only there was a way to make it so you had to hold the button gor a second or two, lol.

I remember watching that momochi one on twitch ! He was using the big razor attic stick and those had detachable cables so sometimes they can get faulty , so that’s what happened I’m sure . Had to replace that cable before myself when I had one

You’d think that tournaments would have “tournament style controllers” this way their is no cheating or pause button.

They should have a rule where if its blatant hardwarse issue you restart and if not you can make the opponent choose, like if the oppononent chooses to rematch nothing happens. It would be all much more fair

The final say should lie with the players and not the judges as long as it's an agreed upon circumstance I feel.
