I won't be buy clothes for a while after watching this
ОтветитьAmazon sells Joe Fresh.
ОтветитьThis definetly seem like a good and honest culture.
The exact kind of people we need in Canada.
Hope Trudeau opens the doors wide open.
All I see are future doctors and lawyers
Once again, quality journalism & professional reporting! Thank you for re-visiting this situation
ОтветитьYou know your husband is only earning member of family. You are also disabled. Was it necessary for 2nd child ? Feed and educate one child and make sure that child doesn't go to garment factory again. It is your fault, You didn't learn from the tragedy.
ОтветитьFeel sorry for these people. But root cause is economy of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has probably highest population density on earth, I may be wrong . Though population growth is managed now, but It has a huge population. Also technologically or scientifically, It is underdeveloped and apart from apparel exports, It has almost nothing to export. Being an Islamic country, It is going down in the mess gradually .
What Bangladesh gov can do is 1> Strict 1 child policy like China 2> Must technical and science education for all kids up to higher classes
3> Ask high tech industries to setup shops, not just manufacturing, but design. 4> Control Islamists and allow science and knowldge.
No one is gonna do anything rich people doesn't care about worker's
ОтветитьGalen Weston has high standards? He only cares about Galen Weston. There and every community he has ties to-factories or stores.
ОтветитьHorrendous situation 😢 but (as an arrested development fan), am I the only one who can’t take ‘loblaw’ seriously! 😂
ОтветитьYou guys do some criminally underrated work. Keep doing the world's work these are an absolute necessity.
ОтветитьI think we have the same problem everywhere. Greedy people in power sucking the blood out of their citizens.
ОтветитьCompanies that benefit from this are disgusting. I will never buy anything made in Bangladesh again.
Ответитьu say Bangledesh but it looks like Melbourne, Australia
ОтветитьI’m not surprised that the Lawblaws CEO denied an interview because he’s currently TOO BUSY SCREWING CANADIANS ON FOOD PRICING
ОтветитьShame on Joe Freash and factory owners placing their money maker community in poverty. Very very sad. These are human people working 11 hour days six days a week for what? Change is an understatement. Rana should have these people taken care of……all expenses……everything. Homes, healthcare and all it takes to live comfortably.
ОтветитьThis is good journalism.
ОтветитьSo sorry, Guy's
ОтветитьSadly corruption and negligence is everywhere, the rich are getting richer the poor are also getting poorer and for those who are working hard to break those bridges you must sweat and really sweat in order to achieve that goal.
That is the state of the world and how much you get angry at those people who are taking advantage of others there is nothing you can do and it's already established and people are not ready to change that mostly those who hold powerful positions
Top Class Journalism.
ОтветитьIt's unjust news reporting that doesn't tell the complete story. It does not address both sides of the controversy. The Fifth Estate don't even properly request permission before interviewing someone who isn't accessible to the public for security reasons. If this type of media is accurate and impartial, it will properly obtain permission before conducting an interview. The Fifth Estate is aware of their behaviour and doesn't meet the standards of fairness and truth in broadcasting. I urge you to reapply, attend the broadcasting course, and review the laws guiding fair interviews. Rather it scandalous, suspicious and one sided media. Go back and think on your previous reports.
ОтветитьBig deal. Ii need clothes.
ОтветитьWhy can't Canadian companies hire people within Canada?
Ответитьthank you!
ОтветитьThank you!! Fifth Estate for doing this. Thank you!!
Ответитьshame shame shame. One day we will stand before Almighty God to give an answer. He for sure cares what heppens to these poor people
ОтветитьIt saddens me that there aren’t more views for this. This is a pertinent issue unlike the political nightmare that has overshadowed EVERYTHING else 😢
Ответитьshame on Loblaws . i dont buy cloth from them . Loblaw CEO should come out of his comfy couch and make things straight . Pay up to the people you promised 10 years ago . This is unexceptable how you are treating workers .
ОтветитьThis is what happens when public outrage dies down, business as usual!! 🤬
ОтветитьSuch a friggin insulting business that cares nothing about their workers lives. Thank you for getting the message out.
ОтветитьGreat follow up and journalism
ОтветитьI can't even remember the last time I got a new outfit. Working full time here and can't afford new clothes..
ОтветитьWho was I'm charge of inspections of buildings and the structure? Who was supposed to insure the structure was safe for staff??
Ответить👍😥😥😥💖💖💖
ОтветитьMany Canadian politicians are business owners as well. Most do not treat their employees this bad. It is almost always about profit.
ОтветитьA swamp? It was built in a SWAMP?! 😵💫🥴
ОтветитьThe Rana Plaza collapse changed my way of thinking forever. I stopped buying retail because of that young mother having to deliver her baby- TRAPPED -under the rubble. Gut wrenching.
ОтветитьSo now what? Made a great program, surely a lot of views for the CBC, but what about the employees and victims? Does anything change for them?
ОтветитьKalpana Aktar speaks English better than those ministers in power being a teen garment worker.
ОтветитьJoe Mimran(labLaw owner) doesn't care about Bangladeshi workers, because he is Jewish and also easy to bribe Bangladeshi authorities. the country is run by Alibaba and 40 thieves. I had a friend in Montreal and his relative was a garment owner in Bangladesh. He imported bulk apparel and couldn't sell them in big stores, because all big stores or wholesale buyers are mostly Jews. Even to sell in the Bay store, needs a Jewish connection. so he partnered with poor Jewish guys and started to deliver to the big chains, but still small suppliers had a tough time selling and making profits because in that business all are mafias. sometimes some buyers did not pay him money and told him bye-bye.
ОтветитьThank you for opening my eyes to this.. its disappointing and disgusting the way humans treat others
ОтветитьThe final words are chilling… 😢
ОтветитьLoblaws and joe fresh the face of evil in Canda. Galen is a demon
ОтветитьIt's odd. That this is not a real brand, joe fresh is a dollar store brand, and doesn't need to be made.
ОтветитьWalmart is evil
ОтветитьMoney is the root of all evil. These poor humans are proof.
ОтветитьIndia has horrible corruption and low standards. That's where things have to change.
ОтветитьI dont understand how a canadian import company under contract with a foreign manufacturer can be held responsible for things like worker rights, building safety and laws in those foreign countries. What about all the goods imported from china, the foods imported from Africa and Brazil..?? Do we send inspectors there...to all those factories, or do we allow those countries to manage and regulate themselves...???
