Owning a Dalmatian?? | What you need to know!

I just got my baby yesterday 💙 his name is Cupid cause he has a heart shaped spot over his nose. He was my valentines present. Have wanted one for over 20 years. ❤

Today is the 31st December 2023. I, a 16 year old that goes to sixth form in the uk is getting a 9 week old dalmatian on the 19th of January, my only concern is the diet and what i should feed him and things with food. I will be able to take him out on walks quite often because i am taking full responsibility of him, not my parents, me 😂.

Dalmatians seem very similar to Labradors in terms of energy, friendliness, shape, size - wonderful dogs!

I just love Dalmatians. Except for being super beautiful, they are also very smart. Mine is like a curious kid that always follows me around, loves to sleep next to me so tight that almost pushes me from the bed. So sensitive and gentle and goofy. But yeah, they need a lot of exercise, otherwise they may become destructive and a little bit depressed. They pick their favourite human(s), and are their best and loyal friend. Please if you take Dalmatian, make sure you give them attention, walks, and lots of hugs.

I have one! When I’m walking her people want to either pet or take a picture or both! Mostly the kids! I run with her they love to run play fetch very athletic !

We have a Dalmation that just turned 1. She’s fantastic. I love the breed. I did research a lot prior to having her and I continue into them still. We actually make our food for our dogs. I’m lost why she would feed her Dalmation Science Diet, kibble food and Liver. Liver it and organ meats (also red meat) have high purine levels. Excess uric acid in the body from gout can cause uric acid kidney stones to develop.

Our Dal Macey is a real character and love her to bits, she has what we call her "pirate patch" eye patch so can't be shown. But she loves a cuddle and trying to lick your ear! We got her to train as a carriage dog as my wife and I also breed Clydesdale horses.

We currently have a husky and getting a Dalmatian I think it won’t be that huge of a difference maybe a little bit

What about a dalmatian mix? Should they be on a special diet too? Or is it less likely that they will need a special diet?

This dog is interesting only because of its coat, but otherwise it is completely useless and hard to train.

We were "owned" by a Dal for 13 years and loved it. We miss her almost every day! Dals are wonderful -- but please pay attention to the information in this video.

Recentlly adopted a Dalmation. Wonderful girl. I was thinking she might have hearing issue. This video confirms the likelyhood of that. Thank you for the tip on the Urea Crystal formation, I will switch to appropriate diet, thank You. Great video, Jetti, lives up to her name, she is super fast, and can literally fly right over most any fence, smart enough to use latch on gates, can escape from any restraint, lol. You are correct, this wonderfully happy, loving girl is a handful, requires lots of space and attention, but worth every minute of it. She even likes to sing! Video of that coming soon. I love Dalmatians, they’re an amazing breed!! The video was lovely but I’m disappointed that you made a video about this breed without taking the time to learn where the breed actually came from. It’s not England. Dalmatians were actually first bred in my home country, Croatia or to be more precise, Croatian coastline area Dalmatia which is what they’re named after. Please get your facts straight.

Last year I adopted two Dalmador sisters. They are a mix of Dalmatian and white Labrador. They have all of the best characteristics of both breeds. I just adore them.

I have a dalmatian and I think she's smarter than most people I meet. She is, however, a bit on the stubborn side. If you tell her to do something and she doesn't want to, she won't do it. She's a beautiful, loyal and loving dog.

We just adopted one. And shes already the STAR of our family. She is loving and very very patient with my 3 kiddos. And literally drags me in our walks/run I cant keep up with her and having to pull me would be an added exercise for her .
