I've been playing ff14 in my deck the last several days and can say with certainty that the controls are clunky. Opening and navigating the map is a nightmare and target swapping is almost next to impossible imo. It runs phenomenally, but God I don't know how they've not made it more accessible at this point in its life lol

Final Fantasy 14 is actually free to play for the entirety of Realm Reborn and Heavensward (the first expansion). You can play as much as you want.

I love New World on my SteamDeck does crash a lot though. I will comeback and play it once they bring controller support.

Really wanted to play New World on my Steam Deck but the EAC and WiFi issues just drove me too crazy so I gave up

I love playing FFXIV on Steam Deck, though I’m still trying to learn how to play using the controller (first time)... I’m afraid to run duty roulettes yet so I’m basically levelling up my crafting/gathering and some quests on the side.

New World is fun on the Steam deck. I've leveled up to max exclusively on it.

I personally find Windows 10 to be much better for most games that arent running well on SteamOS itself. Final Fantasy XIV has much more stable fps in cities on Windows 10 than on SteamOS, same thing with Genshin Impact

How did you get New World to work? Myself and many others are unable to play it on Steam Deck. I launched the game and made a new character but when I try to load into the server, it puts me as 1st in queue for about 5 minutes and then says that there's a connection issue. It looks like the majority of people are experiencing this. Did you not have an issue like this?

What about elder scrolls?

guild wars 2 and elder scrolls online are perfect to play on the deck, easily the best to play on it

Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime.

Would be great if you could include which proton version you were using or any particular config changes you had to make to get it run well, etc.

Final Fantasy 14 has extended its free trial some time ago to lvl 60 and includes the first expansion Heavensward, which is cool, I wish them and WoW, made the subscription non mendatory so it's more welcoming to come back without having to sub back just to log in, but it is what it is, cool video, i'm really considering getting a deck

why no guildwars 2 and elder scrolls online? they run very good

I have installed WoW on my Deck. The only thing, which is very annoying, that every time, I start BN up, there is at least 30 minutes of waiting for first, updating the Battlenet update agent, second, updating Battlenet, third, updating the game itself. (Hopefully not installed more than one BN game). Every single time. So - nothing for just to play half an hour on the go on daily commute.
