Just to add here, as a romanian: Rent and all other costs will differ a lot based on the city you're in. Larger cities like Cluj, Bucharest, Timisoara, etc will be more expensive. If you come to work on minimum wage and have the option to come to a small city (under 100k residents), it's a better starting point as minimum wage is the same for all the country but cost of living is different. The downside of a smaller city is that residents have less exposure to expats, so less people know english/french and you will have less entertainment, worse infrastructure, etc. A lot of companies offer a place to live as well for free, but this is most common in rural areas where you would work in agriculture, construction, etc, so definitely not easy jobs but jobs that will allow you to save up the most.
ОтветитьGood information, just one small correction, the average salary in IT is over 10.000 RON according to latest statistics, so it's about 2.000 euros.
