You did a beautiful job, but I've often wondered.... Do welders charge to fix their come backs, if their repairs fail ?
ОтветитьSo amazing seeing damage like that and the after of it being repaired.
Ответить🫡
ОтветитьStress riser
ОтветитьBeats buying the assemblies that will blow out just like the original. Repaired and stronger than the original.
ОтветитьWhat rod are you using?
Have you ever used any Eutectic Castolin products?
I was just given 300lbs of various electrodes.
the surprise ending lmao
ОтветитьThose hollow beams need some internal bulkheads every couple of feet. A hollow welded tube, what a joke😂
ОтветитьCorrect me if I’m wrong but when the metal gets that fatigued, isn’t it best to just replace it even if it is expensive? I mean both the boom and the stick have been stressed so much that it will continue to crack and break. Or am I wrong?
ОтветитьLove the nonchalant comment that there is one other thing that needs fixing at the very end. Those guys run their machines hard, that'll keep you busy.
ОтветитьJBWELD
ОтветитьGood evening, I am trying to understand, how it's possible that so many of these Cat welds are failing. Is it a manufacturer issue. Or is it abuse, from the operator. If it's the operator, I would fire them on the spot, Joe Capo.
ОтветитьNot doing inspection
ОтветитьOh boy, that thing was not maintained well at all. Great job putting it back together
ОтветитьSomebody has been abusing this equipment.
ОтветитьBoy I’d be pretty upset with the operator of that machine things happen but busting iron takes abuse I’ve ran allot of old worn out machines and sure bearings go bushings pumps things like that but I’ve never busted a boom off even when I worked a rock pit pulling down walls the buckets took a beating but never a boom and I greased everything at the end of the shift and cleaned filters I ran a 980b without brakes and the bushings were so worn you had to stop and wait for the machine to stop racking back and forth to load a truck and still never broke iron on it getting out 55 loads a day
ОтветитьI don’t know I think it’ll crack again, I would’ve put a full new piece of steel , made holes with a mag drill and weld through the holes until they are flush, then put another piece over it to make the machine look brand new
ОтветитьHe sure is good and I'm no welder...nice and clean cuts and welded joints
ОтветитьMake fullweld where it matters ...strenrhen it..
ОтветитьThis seems like structural welding and body work. The amount of impact and vibration caused loss of ductility. We can anticipate that the arm/boom will continue to fracture in other places.
Ответитьyeah buddy. you gots to have a real big shade tree to be fixin them big stuff
ОтветитьGood videos....please don't explain every little detail... it's boring
ОтветитьGood job, Greetings
ОтветитьSo what I learnt is don't buy a Cat digger.
ОтветитьCould you please tell me where you got your truck set up that is ideal if you could tell me who did that or where you got it done or bought it I would be greatly appreciative. Good job on the stick.
ОтветитьJust curious.... plasma cutters wont work that thick of steel??
Ответитьcat products see such a destruction well and are not a design fault.
ОтветитьWho ever repaired that dipper stick arm last time should get the bill for this one. They Fd that all up! Not only did they do a shitty job on the welds, but they made the cardinal sin in structural welding! Welding across the load! That weld should have been fish plated on all sides after that repair.
ОтветитьYou're very modest, but that was some fine work carried out 👍
ОтветитьAnd repair cost bill arrived the next day $1.5 million dolar. You should have bought a new one.
Ответитьthe wind in your mic is atrocious.
ОтветитьWOW...your work looks better and stronger than it does from the factory. 😧😧
Ответитьwhat truck body do you have on your work rig? Its nice
ОтветитьNo need to apologize for repeating yer self 😂 I like it helps me understand what your doing
Ответитьalso beautiful truck
Ответитьgreat work!
ОтветитьWhat type of welder are you using for this job?
ОтветитьIt wasn’t fixed right the first time
ОтветитьGood welder. That’s some serious fatigue. You should start building the arms.
ОтветитьI would love to know the going rate for a repair like this
ОтветитьWhen it was all opened up I would have installed big huge backing plates not that worthless junk then weld it all back together and make new plates for the outside and that way you have double the strength
ОтветитьLooks like their operator was running the machine too hard...
ОтветитьI'd love to fix that.
ОтветитьWhy is there no sound?
ОтветитьOsiosisizi
ОтветитьTime for aNew Machine! Once boom has been Cracked also.
ОтветитьAgain I would put a ‘X’ piece inside stick at least a foot long . It has been broken before.
ОтветитьLooking at the duct tape on the hydraulic connector I can see how well they take care of their equipment. No wonder it broke.
ОтветитьHoly crap mechanic should have taken off the whole boom for you seeing is that much damage. But the part you did looks brand-new for now lol
Ответить
