My flamenco teacher told me he had a much easier time teaching students with no previous musical experience than those like me who had spent years learning classical.
I think part of the problem (at least for me) was the idea that I should already know most of the beginner stuff. It was very humbling realizing that I did not. I can only speak about myself tho.

The explanation is flawless, but I could have done with at least three or four rounds of strumming to fool around with. I´m so used to 4/4 that I need a lead to snap out, and thinking of a walse 3/4 don´t do the trick. But I´ll try again tomorrow :)

One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of people who play flamenco guitar is the flourish of the hand after hitting the final chord. It’s useful for swatting away all of the women who will throw themselves at you once you’ve mastered it 😎

Self taught here, just from watching people play. Is it wrong to use the middle finger for the basic rasgueado? It wants to do more than the index lol

For anyone trying to learn flamenco, GET A FLAMENCO GUITAR! Not a classical. The action is too high on a classical and when you try to golpe while strumming, your fingers will end up catching the strings
