I check and read only is unchecked, then close file, shows read only, went ahead & close and reopen file, read only is unchecked and when open it still is a read only file.

I opened the file's properties but read-only is already unticked. even then I am unable to edit it. It still shows a read-only file even though it is unticked in properties

Great video, accept not correct for more current versions of Excel. I have a read only file and when follow steps to properties, the read only tick box in NOT ticked - so can't untick. But file has automatically made itself read only. Any suggestions from anybody to explain how to stop Excel making files read only automatically???

I use excel 2019. All my excel files changed to (Read Only) after deleting my temporary and windows update files. Clicking right at each file, under properties and in the General Tab the Read Only is not checked, but every file after opening becomes Read Only. How should I solve this problem?
