how ever i wanted to ask if i want to take a backup of the config which is better and why
running show running config and capture the results via ssh or just use copy?

Love that one on any gear | grep is a must have as most of the routers I work on have 13-18 48 port blades in them.

Next time you are on the command line, do a 'show run all' then a 'show run full'. See what you get
