I know exactly what I want to do. I want to be a stylist for models and mannequins for stores. Being a personal stylist would be cool, celebrities would be cool but that’s quite a stretch. I don’t know where or how to start as a stylist, right now I style my friends and they love it because they’ve never been so well dressed. Also I don’t know if this helps but I have a Dior/raf simons type of style.

I'd love to work in topman, but I have no work experience whatsoever! How should I go about asking to work for free there, and do you think they'd give me a proper job after a while?

When did you start working at Topman? I used to work in the Oxford Circus one and I'm wondering if that's why I always thought I knew your face from somewhere. I wasn't there long - only about 5 months - around 2007ish.

That is so true working for free part, Im still in the mist here in Sweden assisting stylist and it feels like a billions years but its a step you have to take (mostly) if you want to network and gain experience and learn.

Great advice James! You did do a hella lot of things over the years. I'm planning on moving to London next year when I finish uni and starting from the bottom then working my way up. We will see how it goes.
