Tarkov’s Best Early Wipe Armor! (Patch 0.14 Guide)

The new armour system needs a major overhaul. Probably a bit late to the party but i have almost every t5-6 armour in my inventory to compare stats. As of now Thor armour out performs most t5-6 armour. The soft armour on many higher level vests is either t2 or non existent whereas Thors soft armour is t3 and compatible with t5-t6 plates in all slots making it far superior then the most expensive vests. T5 assault soft armour is lvl 2, it wont even stop pst gzh 9mm... So if you happen to score yourself a slick, hex, gen5 assault and so on do yourself a favour and buy a thor and replace the plates with the t5-6 plates.

I'm kind of bothered by the fact that most of the side armor has barely any coverage visually but I'm sure covers the entire hitbox.

looks like almost all armors can be used now based on what situation you were in. i can now use the osprey without feeling like im doing it wrong

imo the neck and groin should both have enhanced chance to cause light and heavy bleeds
theres a large amount of blood vessels there.

I have no idea what types of ammo I should be running later into the wipe now as a new player

I'm pretty sure the mmac plate carrier is glitched or one of the worse armors in the game because before and after the wipe I've been one tapped by 9 mm pistols in the chest which the armor says it protects that area.

Did helmets lose their ricochet chance? They no longer have the text

I don't play tarkov, but how effective would it be to get a really high tier plate insert rig and just not put any plates in it, relying only on the high tier's soft armor? Do you get weight/movement buffs for doing this, because you aren't carrying the heavy plates?

Trooper has been nerfed heavy, its only value is the plates it comes with lol

I have a question for you since you do a lot of armor testing. I have been getting killed from getting hit in my back when I am facing my enemy (assuming from getting hit in the front and then the bullet going into the back hitbox too). I was wondering if this does the same damage to both hit boxes killing you quicker than before, or does it do less damage to both hitboxes causing it to do the same damage with the old hitbox system.

Can you do a video on helmets too? I feel like I am taking more damage to the head vs just dying right away. Idk maybe it’s just me but I definitely feel a huge difference.

Call me crazy but it feels like the paca is the only armor protecting me I wear a 6b13 and get one taped to the thorax. Or where a zabarello and get arm pitted by a shot gun scav wear a paca i get shot by every single thing to exist and come out running.

been replacing the lower tier plates with higher ones no one is looking at plates to take so i get back tier 4 and 5 back cause they are in armor that is usually tier 3

I'm finding so much lvl3 armor and helmets that I don't know what to do with them. My EOD stash is full of items I haven't been able to get rid of cause I didn't die. Gear fear is real, but this is worse lol

No armor is best early wipe now . Take a rig and a pistol or laser beam smg and face shot someone and take theirs . That is the best armor

armor does not seems much important right now. I was 2 tapped with 7mm buckshot from MP153 from scav in thorax while wearing ANA M2 armor. While fighting PMC its usually headshots most of times.

I keep taking plates out of armors i find and sticking them in kirasas so they have a good chance coming back on insurance

most times i run no armor 😂 this wipe is a pistol wipe for me, i grew more and more enjoying running a pistol and kitting up eith what i shoot and straight sell it

my go to is the zhuk 3 press armor barter and then buy a lvl4 plate for sometimes 25k on the flea and sell the lvl3 for 7k

I got shot through the Uhley (Tan) armpit hitbox by a scav today. One-shot kill. The scav was in 3-story dorms while I was in 2-story looting a jacket. I had a laugh, not gonna lie.

the press vest has been my daily driver since I can just take the plate out, craft a new one with it, and throw a front plate from a 6b13 in there and a monoclete in the back

i hate the fact that everything is out of stock, its just makes everything so much worse

If anything the game needed desperately it was another vulnerable one hit region so when you’re in a cool fun fight it ends with a random unsatisfying kill or death.

Every wipe I choose my armor carefully, just to get hit on the eyes 90% of the times ;D

Best protection is still being sneaky and rotate a lot in fights

Just a heads-up, it appears if certain bullets penetrate hard plate armor they have a very high chance to fragment and instantly kill you. I've been one tapped to the chest by ammo types that are approaching but not quite guaranteed pen against Level 4 hard plates. Plate took 7 damage, armor backer took no damage (friend threw my armor), I died instantly. 7.62 PS. End of raid screen showed one shot to my chest

you can also put armor plates in your anus pocket...so if you find a tier 5 or 6 plate...shove it up the butt
