My parents had me buy an 08 as my first car because it's so safe...it's constantly in need of expensive repairs but it keeps going. My serpentine belt hung on by a thread for 18 months because I didn't hear it unless my a/c was on. Im getting ready to switch it out for a matrix or vibe but I will definitely miss how it drives.

I bought a 2013 S60, the Exhaust pipe has black when you wipe your finger in it. Is that an issue or is it because of the turbo? Also I recently received a letter from Volvo stating that this car is know to run through oil like crazy and that if I had any macanick issue due to high oil use that they would refund me. I was told once upon a time that I had needed the oil trap
replaced. Figured out it was just a $20 plastic diaphragm. Saved $1000

My first car is a 2011 V70 2,4D. Sturdy, pretty decent power, good gas milage, quiet, extremely comfortable (the seats are more comfortable than some sofas honestly) and the engine can last a very long time as long as you use common sense, take care of it and do the usual service it requires and is cheaper to fix than for example a BMW 5 series or an Audi A4 or A6.

Do you know of any good European Cars (Volvo, Land Rover) Mechanic in the Portland/Beaverton area. There are some of them that claimed to work on European cars but have come to found out they are worse than the dealership. So, if you know of any good ones around. I will be more than happy to talk to them

You know how you tell reliability of the car . Today 2023 I can buy this car with 100k miles on it for $2000 and same year and milge Toyota corolla will cost me $5000.

Good design but not reliable cars. Go look other videos about these high maintenance cars . After 60k miles you will not gonna be happy driver.

I have a 2020 Volvo V90 Cross County All Wheel Drive. I love it. The only things I had to do was to change the oil and rotate the tires. Volvo in my opinion is the best European car ever made.

I have a volvo 240 stationwagon a relaxing car to drive and it starts every time! I use it as a dayly driver! I also have a Toyota corolla ke36 van from 1976. Its also starts every time but it is a hobby car not a dayly driver.

I got myself a 2001 XC70 a year or so back. I'm the 13th owner!!! Didn't worry me too much, thinking that each owner had it for a couple of years and probably looked after it, after all to them it was a new car. It has 183k miles on it. I fitted a new intercooler to get rid of a smoking exhaust. It drives great it's quick and tows like a dream. I should have stuck with the Volvo brand all of my driving life. I started driving way back in 1976 my first car was a Volvo 145, it's good to be back driving a great brand.
