It's a good thing Ryan Renolds came back with Deadpool it would have been unfortunate if he was instead remembered for something as lame as battling a space cloud.

You know since there are so many people who are so bent out of shape over the fact that he made it to the Sun so quickly let me tell you why. One Good Reason is the movie is only an hour and a half long and they couldn't exactly show the entire trip all the way there. Send reason, to paint a picture in your head lanterns in DC canonically can fly at transluminal speeds which is even faster than hyperluminal which is about five times the speed of light. It amazes me that no one ever touches on this in the movies or TV shows and no one ever seems to know this either. Green Lantern can fly about as fast as or faster than the flash can run.

That might be a cool design idea for it. The more you can look at it straight on, the less powerful it is.

i never really jived with this movie literally killing the incarnation of fear, like... that is not how that works at all, and parallax (the entity, not the hal jordan) was never really a villain in and of itself, its more of a wild beast

There's no incentive to chasing down Hal Jordan here from the beginning. Paralax can simply ignore Hal Jordan and continue to devour the Earth forcing Hal Jordan to try and defend it.
Paralax literally is in a no lose situation and the stupid writing made this so much dumber than was necessary.

Watching these older movies, they really did throw the F35 into everything huh..

I always love how Hal fought Parallax alone, and yet at the very end, Sinestro and the others show up to prevent him from being pulled into the Sun. Makes me wonder if they were just watching the fight the entire time.

Abin Sur sealed Parallax and now his successor, Hal Jordan defeated him.

A great movie, very underrated. very good CGI, very good fight scenes and a very good origin story. I dont care about comics, green lantern became my favorite DC superheroe because of this movie. And the best fight in the space i've seen.

The Parallax story should have been saved for one of the animated movies. This was too big a story to start Hal off. Also the CG costume was a big mistake. The first story should have been just him and Sinestro with a hint of a future Parallax. Had the Zack Snyder JLA movie done fantastic, a future sequel could have been Parallax Hal fighting and defeating the JLA as in the comics.

Decent film that gets overly criticized. Ryan Reynolds did a decent job in the role. I would love to see Green lantern make a cross over appearance in one of Ryan's deadpool films.

Why didn't the Lanterns help Hal? In the deleted scenes it's revealed that they were building a yellow lantern to fight Parallax and Earth was going to be used as a diversion to buy more time.

This fight was better than the Silver surfer/ Galactus fight from FF2

One of my favourite DC movies.
