Hey, current updater of Gnomefather's here. Just wanted to say a big thanks for featuring sound mods on your channel again! The stock game sounds have definitely come a long way over the years, and I know that sound mods aren't for everyone, but at least for me, they've helped to get a lot more enjoyment out of the game -- both as a long-time user AND more recently in researching new guns/engines to add the mod (and yes, Gnomefather's is still being updated with new sounds, NOT just long-term maintenance!). If you've been wanting to change up your experience with WoT's atmosphere, I'd say give them a shot -- the right sound mod for you can make a tremendous difference!
By the way, question for Dez: I'm not sure if they're included in Aslain's pack, but another big aspect which both Gnomefather's and War Mod changes is engine sounds. Can't speak for War Mod (though, I know JohnTankPL has put in a lot of work on engines over there), but as far as Gnomefather's goes, this is a big part of what contributes to the filesize -- since taking on Gnomefather's mod from Zorgane, I've added over 100+ new engine sounds to the mod (and I do know that many of John's updates to War Mod have historically include many engines as well). Likewise, I know many who've chosen to use these mods for the changes to engine sounds alone -- and perhaps I may be a bit biased here (as a long-time user of Gnomefather's), but at least to me, they contribute just as much (if not more) to the change in atmosphere/feel of the game as the gun sounds. May I ask, is there any chance for engine sound mods to be covered in a similar manner at some point? (I could put together a list of some vehicles with notable modded engine sounds if it'd be of help + could contact John for a similar list from War Mod, etc.)
Regardless, thank you again for shining some light our way -- me/Zorgane (authors of the Gnomefather's revival), John (author of War Mod), PYmods (creator of the core mods which make sound mods feasible to maintain), and many others put a lot of work into these mods (as do you with your videos), so it is nice to see them get some time in the spotlight. Salut!
RIP headphones users after hearing war mod 😂
ОтветитьWar mod is a overkill , Gnomefather's mod is suitable for me
ОтветитьI think Gnomefather/Fastestclassic’s gun sounds are still the best
ОтветитьIn the end, everyone ended up fighting.
ОтветитьVanilla sounds lack detail and power in my opinion. Gnomefather's are the best
ОтветитьTHE GUNS HAVE EARRAPE IN THEM
ОтветитьWar Gaming is a piece of shit anymore !!!
ОтветитьHello Dez and everyone, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I installed the sound mods and now the voices of the commanders don't work, has anyone had a similar problem? Thank you.
ОтветитьWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Ответитьbest sounds for world of tanks are THE OLD ONES when the game was NOT in HD. not many mods can beat that.
there was once kv1s in tier 6 or kv2 or bigger tanks...like t30...or t28 prot....those are real sounds..not those HD sounds that makes guns sound almost the same also they extremely annoying...(specialy when you get hit and hear the beeping sound)
i had to mute the hole game nowadays...i play with the game MUTED.(new sounds are extremely annoying)
* Historical Gundound mod: To be honest, gnomefathers mod, now kept alive by another one, accompanied my for 10 years and still sounds the most immersive while being a balance between loud fierce sound but not too much to get distracted for the ingame spot sounds and else.
Also is really sounding pretty realistic! At least for the older tanks (sadly I think the new ones which keeping it alive don't have access to the real sounds, like the 152MM which is pretty new. So I'd guess they're searching up the internet for sounds which could be similar sounding) - but just listen to the 88 gun of the Tiger 1: it's pretty much 1-1 like the real thing.
* War Sound mod: If you want the "wartape" impact and gun sound, you go with War mod- this is bassically if you'd be standing right next to the the tank while it's shooting. At least the volume and impact sound like this.
If the gunsounds of the specific tanks sound actually 1-1 realistically I'd say it's not always the case.
I always said since mods existing, sometimes you don't want it to be "ultra realistic", but just immersive and feel it. If it's fitting and well made no one would deny it.
But as you noticed youself, you might put the vo.lume down for the gunsounds because you don't even hear the spoting sounds and else.

Clearly said the standard gunsounds of WOT are just terrible... Besides being too silent on too less echoing for such large explosions and shells they sound dull and like "pop, the crisp can" opened. Even Warthunder and Armored Warefar doing a better job.
Also as you said already, hit sounds, flying sounds nearly muted on the original.
It may be specially made since it could distract from the gameplay itself- but I totally want a more immersive and dangerous sounding environment, letting me feeling the real danger.
not being mean but war mod soundpack sounds like shit
Ответитьhow to install it? i've install in aslain but i cant use it... it wont sound like it quite when i shot
ОтветитьWe need war mod;)
ОтветитьI think you missed the 128 mm german guns, which for me have a very special sound inside the game.
ОтветитьWar Thunder > WOT
ОтветитьDoesnt work on my Aslain config, sounds like an electric car(engine sound) and doesnt hear any gun sound:-(
ОтветитьName music please 🥺🙏🏻
ОтветитьThat's really hilarious when I saw that smol 7.92 caliber keep shooting at the hopeless and slow paper 240mm 🤣🤣
Ответитьwar thunder is free
Ответить240мм как будто Хиросима Нагасаки устроили )
ОтветитьNow hear me out:::
World Of War Trucks!
Light Truck- like a recon jeep with a .30 machine gun.
Medium Truck- a dodge 1 ton truck with a .50 heavy machine gun.
Heavy Truck- greyhound armored car with 20mm cannon.
Mortar Truck- a deuce and a half transport truck with a mortar team in the bed.
Anti Tank Motorcycle- an indian motorcycle where the rider can stop the vehicle and use a bazooka.
Honestly the base game sounds could use littlerework. Gnomefathers actually pretty good.
War Mod just went from 007 GoldenEye comical on lower calibers to actual earr*** on the higher ones. Definitely not for me.
Can anybody help me? I've been trying to download Gnomefather's mod and place it into my res_mods folder on my steam version but it doesn't seem to work? Any ideas?
ОтветитьWar mod would be WAYTOODANK in 15vs15 Xs
ОтветитьBest home theater 5.1 48.0 khz suond studio
ОтветитьFor some, I prefer vanilla sounds and for others, Gnomefather's was better. War Mod sounded far too excessive though.
Ответитьinstalled it, its friggin amazing...
ОтветитьLaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!
ОтветитьI hope this exists in Blitz WoT too xD
ОтветитьWow!
ОтветитьWhen the entire earth agreed to form and alliance 😂
Ответитьnothing can beat ETSM from War Thunder, even the basic sound of the game is better than the mod lmao
ОтветитьI cant even play world of tanks without sound mods. Stock world of tanks sound is horrible lol
Ответитьthat is some heavy gustav shit at t92 man.
ОтветитьT92 HMC with WAR MOD sounds like parody LMAO I canr stop laughing
ОтветитьWar Mode is just bad - bass boosted like crazy and nothing else :/
Ответитьwar mods to much echo great gun sounds though am going to try gnomefathers thanks to all for doing the comparison well presented.
ОтветитьОператор молодец , хорошо всё снял
ОтветитьOh believe Dez guys, i used to bring my MS-1 to a battle with friend in a Maus, yes, it was that possible if you go with platoon
Ответитьyooo,and stormtiger?
ОтветитьGREAT JOB!
Ответитьwar mod is really impressive...I would say its way more better than gnome...
Ответить240mm is like new Elon's rocket starting
ОтветитьWarmods ricochet and mechanical sounds are way too much
ОтветитьI'd say both sounded good until 120m
