This video was 14GB and uploaded in about 5 minutes. I can get used to this...
ОтветитьPONs and GPONs don't work at different wavelengths as per customer, they're using time division multiplexing (TDM), Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). Please do your homework before posting about a technology you barely understand.
Passive optical networks are best for highspeed downloads but are crap for symmetrical fiber internet, the upload speeds are still bad on PONs regardless of the kind. The only thing worse than a PON is a shared Metropolitan Optical Ethernet (active MoE), star network using optical router but share speed with other customers works like a hub instead of a switch. Dedicated Level 2. 2+, 3, and 3+ are the way to go, a lot more expensive though.
Im getting .2 mbps as we speak cause its now the windy times and im in a rural area lol
ОтветитьDont get me started on COD servers lol
ОтветитьThe reason the bend makes it stop working it Brewster's Angle, the same principle that makes FTTX possible. Read Jenkins and White's Fundamentals of Optics.
ОтветитьI literally explain this shit to people every day
ОтветитьJust today they finished putting In inter duct and pedestals for fiber in our subdivision.
Ответитьit’s my ping dude i swear
Ответитьgetting fiber in 7 days, cant wait to see what my ping will be
ОтветитьI never understood why google took away the dislike count by default is it they didn't want people's feelings to get hurt whatever happened to just taking it like a man.
ОтветитьId see if the isp can prove the speeds are better with a temp setup outside my house before switching over. Iq fiber is swarming in my neighborhood!
ОтветитьLovely presentation
ОтветитьThanks for making a section from my network+ exam more relatable. I just got burned out from notes and flash cards. Nice to see it being put to real life use
ОтветитьFibre is fast until it hits the massive bottleneck: copper wiring in all non-provider electronics.
ОтветитьYou are pinging to your wan ip. That’s why it’s below 1ms 😅
Ответитьlove that Hummingbird Project movie lol
ОтветитьWhat's the best cat cable for network cord with fiber???
ОтветитьI still get 23 with openfibre or whatever it is that works with bt
ОтветитьAmazing video. Thanks for all the great info!
ОтветитьWorked with fiber and your causing micro fractures and the do result in I transferable data you have to be delicate with it
ОтветитьWe are using fiber internet but 16Mbps and 15ms ping
Ответить0 ms means less than or equal to 0.999 ms or >= 999 micro second ping or the isp server is with in 300 meters of the client routers.
Ответитьwhat is the best router to use with fiber optics going from fiber to cat6 copper cable
ОтветитьHi, i have 1gb fiber internet, on speedtest i see 900+ down and 500+ upload speed and looks like internet works good but in games like pubg i have 50 60 ms (ping) why ? Maybe cable type set not b but a ? On router back where pc network cable stick in i see green solid light but other side on my pc back o dont see green light. I see orange and yellow colors. Maybe something wrong ?
ОтветитьFast forward to 2022 in Romania where DIGI is building a 10 gigabit network in Bucharest and the subscription will be 11 dollars and they have reached every corner of the country with fiber.
ОтветитьIdk much technical stuff but my ISP gave me FTTH connection with gigabit hardware and I can choose plans from 30 mbps 1:1 up down to 1gbps 1:1 up down and all it needs a subscription as soon as I pay for 1gbps plan (pre paid) upgrading from 100mbps plan I can use 1gbps bandwidth straight away I never needed any hardware upgrade so isn’t mine connection is kinda same if it do gigabit speeds that’s also with symmetrical up and down
ОтветитьIn Romania we have this from a long time, its something normal :)) we are waiting now for 10G, it will cost around 10$/ month
ОтветитьDepends if its glass fiber. Or plastic fiber.
And yes you can buy plastic fiber for in office or home use but glass fiber is better suited for comrace or institutions use becuse of the cost. Granted its expandability is virtually unlimited
To a point.
i get doug demuro vibes from you
ОтветитьFiber is not cable
ОтветитьIn New Zealand everyone has FTTH
ОтветитьLOL you have no ads on ookla
ОтветитьFor curiosity, How much cost 1Gb in your country? Here in my city found for R$500 home plan (Minimum wage here is about R$1300)
ОтветитьHere in Brazil we use Real Fiber in most of the country since 2017. Really cool
ОтветитьYou're not going to get anything more than 940/940 on Speedtest due to overhead, that 60Mbit/s is TCP/IP protocol overhead and Ethernet overhead. Copper 1Gbit ethernet cabling does also do full 1000/1000mbit, it's just plain false that copper cabling is limited at 940Mbit's. With fibre 1Gbit ethernet cabling, you will hit the same limits. Also, if you are using that Juniper switch as just a media converter that's just a complete waste dude. A simple 20 USD TP-Link mediaconverter will do as well.
If you would have looked at the amount of raw traffic flowing in your speedtest, or when using copper cabling, you can actually see that it is sending 1000Mbit/s of traffic. It's just that due to overhead you are not able to use the 60Mbit/s as that is used for TCP/IP and Ethernet signaling.
Why isn't your internet 10 Gbits? I live in Switzerland and I can get 1 Gbits with my CABLE internet! (Just download speed, of course) Fiber is usually only used for 10 Gbit here.
Ответитьno 0 ms is not right you would have to be at the server.
Ответитьas a complaints manager for FTTP for an ISP here in the UK, i wish this was a PSA because far too many people expect their upgrade to fibre to just mean their wifi is just gonna be massively better
ОтветитьThank you for this video, I had a better understanding of the FTTx. Now I want to know if is possible to implement MPLS within FTTx.
ОтветитьImagine 50mbps being crappy.
ОтветитьDrip
ОтветитьI live in Australia I’ve had fibre to my premises for 7 years. Can’t believe some people in the US still don’t have it yet.
ОтветитьSTOPPPPPPPPPPP TROLLING
ОтветитьWhats the distance between your home/office and your isp? im 8km away and get about 8ms ping on fiber
Ответитьthere is always latency
ОтветитьMe with 0,28mbps upload....
Ответить
