he didn't bring exhaust housing/turbine into equation .....
ОтветитьThat was very well explained and executed 👌🏼
Subscribed and liked 👍🏼
Ive got an already turbocharged car making 420whp on a hybrid turbo
Considering going big turbo
Waht turbos would I need for street duty on 300 CI Studebaker V8? 2 valves per cylinder, 8.3 compression ratio. Would twin turbos be of benefit? Thanks.
ОтветитьHi. The very first video about turbo I've watched and. Fully understand. Thank a lot. Lots of info and how to really do something beside destroying your car. I'm trying to figure out how put all that to use in a 2005 ford escape with manuals transmission. Any tips are welcome. Thanks again.
ОтветитьBro..... 🤯 nice job on explaining.
ОтветитьThinking of turning an FB RX-7. However it is certainly a ways down the line.
ОтветитьIin manifold pressure formula you have (460+130), what is that 460???
ОтветитьBro thank you so much. For the last idk how long i have been racking my brain thinking "how is it possible for people to spit flames out of their down pipe. This just showed me that after 5ish years of learning about cars and engine and physics of everything, I had either not learned or had forgotten basic turbo anatomy. I feel dumb😅
ОтветитьWhat if I put a smaller turbo b4 the big turbo(for the dummies there's more than 1 way to twin turbo) and set that up so I make enough power on the street too so it's always at max efficiency and then 2 step wit anti lag can I make a tutorial for this specific cenario
Ответитьexcellent video 👌👌 ( not he typical bigger is lag , smaller is better response)
ОтветитьWould like help. Im trying to turbocharge my 2015 toyota corolla LE 1.8 liter. What would be the best turbocharger for this build?
ОтветитьI'm trying to turbocharge a ninja 300, a 13k redline parallel twin that makes 30 hp naturally aspirated. I'm looking to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 50hp to make a commuter/go-kart track weapon for training for larger displacement road racing. Like a lighter weight zx4rr.

ОтветитьI have the GTX2867R on my G20 SR20DE (2.0l) engine running 20PSI. Great street turbo. I also have the GTX3071R on another identical car running 24psi. The 3071 is for mid/upper rpm but puts down 365whp.
ОтветитьWhen you input the volumetric efficiency rate in the equation, do you input it as .95 to simulate 95% or actually 95? Cause I’m doing the math and I’m getting non-similar answers otherwise
Ответить6.7l Cummins w/ Banks Intake Elbow, Banks Intercooler, and Calibrated Powers Ez-Link with 5 custom tunes switchable on the fly; Valaire dual ceramic disc clutch (to 550 hp)
ОтветитьHi, thanks for your video. No one talks about engine efficiency, means the A/F filling % in relationship to engine displacement. Bosch said some 2 valve engine filling is bad, down to 70%. And a 4 valve engine can reach 95%. The interesting part is i found out that a boost level 15-18 psi doubles the A/F filling %! A 2 valve engine up to 140%, a 4 valve engine up to 190%. This doubles the need for fuel, and this doubles torque too. Borg Warner says 270% A/F filling is the physical maximum, some old WW2 engines reach this with supercharger. Here in commends no one talks/thinks about A/F engine filling efficiency, its the future for combustion engines. And you dont talk about the relationship from inlet boost to exhaust back pressure in % for a home build engine. There are so many high power engines killed in 2-3k miles. Tell people the relationship for % A/F engine filling and compression ratio/oktan numbers. When you have the % filling, you have compression ratio/oktan numbers too.
ОтветитьYour video was great. It's informative and entertaining as well. Keep up the great work.

ОтветитьI'm building a street 4.6 4v with Navi heads, stock cams, spring upgrade, 2001 cobra intake, forge pistons and coyote rods. I'm looking to run a twin turbo system. HP range will be 450-600. What turbos do you recommend for this project? Thank you for your time and response.
Ответитьwhat about a/r on the turbo side?
ОтветитьI am building an AC Cobra kit car with a rebuilt Ford 302 with the rings gapped for turbos. I plan to twin turbo it. I live near Denver Colorado, I tried to follow this video but I feel like I don't have to skill or know how to do all the calculations to pick the right size turbos as I will need 2 of them... My target is 500 ish hp. I will be able to tune it via a Holley terminator X and have the fuel upgrades to support 600+ HP. Any help would be welcome.
ОтветитьHow does this work for sequential turbochargers?
ОтветитьMan I just came across your channel,it’s awesome,it’s got so much info my man,I’ve been searching for tune up options for my Nissan fuga 370 got but can’t find nothing, hope yu could point me in the right direction
ОтветитьDoes somebody know at 8min 48 sec. the math (460) came from?
ОтветитьWhat about torque?
ОтветитьVery cool Video and lots of very important infos. Thank you very much sir ;-) . I was just wondering if these calculations "more or less" also would be applicable to a V2 engine. E.g. for a Harley Twin Cam engine...
ОтветитьLarge turbo with extra sauce had me dying 😂
ОтветитьWhat am i trying to turbocharge .....?! Well just my little old 328i e36 😅
ОтветитьI wanted to turbocharge a honda city s 2009 1.5l 119hp to 220hp
I thought this was going to a normal confusing for me but you actually explained it enough to make me understand thx!

Great video presentation. Building a LS3 and hope to get around 30psi of boost: 2x15lb turbos. running dyers rods, Darton Sleeves, Custom diamond Pistons with upgraded pins, Bryant Billet crank. I was advised that it could handle 50lb so was going to go to 30lb. Hoping to get around 13-1500Hp- Am I over reaching?
Can you recommend a set of Turbos and their boost to safely achieve the desired Hp range?
absolute genius
ОтветитьI would've never thought a turbo needs so much work. I just thought you chose one that fits. Change the necessary parts in your car so the engine can hold the turbo, and that's it. Even that is a lot of work and I make it sound easy but it turns out its more complicated than I thought.
ОтветитьBro i am trying to turbo charge my VQ35DE 6MT Altima
Ответитьi’m trying to do a turbo charge for a 2013 buick verano, would you happen to have rates if i could utilize you to retain the information of what is needed to do so?
ОтветитьI'm looking to use a twin scroll turbo in an e36 328i, USDM cast iron bottom aluminum head
ОтветитьVery nice explanation!
ОтветитьMost helpful channel fr fr ❤
ОтветитьI didn't understand everything but i have a better idea now.....i want to turbocharge my 2015 honda fit hybrid
ОтветитьGood description for choosing a Garett turbo but you should mention the most important dimension for any turbo is the turbine exducer diameter because that is the size of the hole that all the exhaust exits the engine. If that is too big the turbo will never make boost or start to spool at 5000rpm. If that is too small it will limit max power. The A/R is a number that represents the size of the hole thru which exhaust gases from the engine enter the turbine impeller. Bigger means lower speed gases = higher flow for max power but higher lag at lower rpm. Different exhaust housing A/R are used for better turbo engine match because they not make turbines with every increment of dimensions.

Ответитьquestion:...whats the best turbo for 1jzgte non vvti mk3 toyota supra 1993...thanks
ОтветитьI genuinely am glad you made this I’m trying to turbo an 01 3.6 v6 mustang it’s a 5spd manual hard top bright red can’t wait to have it built I’ve got graphs drawn out and a turbo picked out already for it thanks to this vid keep the good content coming please
ОтветитьHi evening, great video. I'm new to turbo charging and was looking at the Garrett site earlier and not understanding the graph. Well explained thanks. I'm wanting to turbo a 1242cc fiat fire engine for road use mainly. I was thinking maybe 100-120hp not sure if that is realistic. Any recommendations? Thanks
ОтветитьYo, I just came across this.. your channel is more concise
ОтветитьLove the video very informative 👌
ОтветитьI am so confused. Once I get up to subtracting ambient air pressure I am -0.22 as I live in Denver can some one help me?
ОтветитьThank you. God bless.
