Janeway was so much more interesting as a captain than sisko. But of course, I’m voyager, the show didn’t get too deep into the captains personal life, as opposed to DS9 where it the main plot a lot and I just wasn’t interested.

I did not care sisko was the emissary outside of how it effected his decisions in starfleet, nor did I care about his wedding, his relationship with Jake or even dax or anything else. Because ultimately most of it was superficial while everything janeway did had a direct impact.

Hollywood pushes such a feminist agenda these days, and they put the wrong actresses to play roles that destroys modern shows and cinema. Back then, they picked Actresses like Kate Mulgrew, Linda Hamilton(Terminator), and Sigourney" Weaver (alien) who were amazing talent, and they never divided the sexes, but brought forth the best in television and movies. They became and icons for their hard work, adored by fans all over the world. There was something about Kate and her portrayal of Captain Janeway that will always stay special. She was phenomenal actress, and her hardwork and determination made Voyager an amazing series.

While Voyager no longer is my favourite it definitely is not because of the acting. She played that role magnificently. She was a role model, for men and women

Women I know having trouble with work colleagues or whoever, received several videos of Janeway dealing with difficult people or aliens.
I said...watch her...absorb her...become as unyielding.
Kate, you helped them all.
Superb roll model.

Any Kate Mulgrew fans who haven't seen her in the third season of Mr. Mercedes yet I highly recommend it. She give an absolutely genius performance of a seriously psychotic woman who at the same time is funny as hell. She steals the show whenever she's on screen.

this woman carried the show on her own. The writers gave her an inconsistent character and her charisma alone turned it into an epic, compelling leader.

I'll never understand how people hated on this show as hard as they did. It had way more substance than deep space 9 in yet that show got all of the plug. I mean DS9 was literally the exact same show every time you watched it... Yes Voyager got repetitive, but there was always some feeling that they're getting closer to the end. DS9 felt like a never-ending political summit.

While Star Trek Voyager is far from my favorite of the shows, I always respected Kate Mulgrew for the professionalism and respect that she brought to the role. She did an outstanding job and is worthy of all the other great Captains in Trek lore.

Janeway beats the boys hands down! In my opinion, and many seem to agree, Janeway was the best Star Trek Captain! She was brilliant! 👍

Unfortunately, the female lead on the other famous Sci-Fi show, Doctor Who, is definitely NOT quite as impressive! In fact, in my opinion, she's bloody awful! 👎

Everytime I see her in interviews or videos at conventions I always feel like I really would like her as a person and enjoy her company. She seems like such an honest and stoutly forthright person, with a genuine passion for what she does.

This clip just reinforces how much of an amazing hard working person she really is. Working that many hours, getting up at stupid o'clock every day and for that many years ALL whilst raising and providing for her own family... really is inspirational to hear 🙂

I think Deep Space 9 and Voyager are better than The Next Generation. But Kate Mulgrew, Avery Brooks, And Patrick Stewart all worked very hard and did well.
Kate Mulgrew is always interesting to listen to in an interview. Very smart and well spoken.

Seems like working so many days 16 hours a week for less than 44 minutes of on air footage is a sign of a production team that wasted a lot of time. I know that a lot of TV and movie production is hurry up and wait and there hair and makeup, breaks, and pauses to reload film, reset lights, etc. But it sure seems like something they could accomplish in 12 hour days for the talent. MOST shows don’t spend 16 hour days because that’s very expensive in overtime. It also astonishes me that the stars of a show wouldn’t have transportation provided for such long hours. Why would studios have risked the lives having exhausted actors drive themselves to and from work before and after a 16 hour day? Insane.

captain janeway inspires the shit out of me (even as a man). voyager is by far my favourite star trek. upon watching this video, kate mulgrew now inspires me in a similar way. keeping up your moral standards and pushing the envelope on what we can achieve and be as humans. or should i just say as sentient beings. it makes me proud to be part of our reality.

Its really quite incredible when you think about the demands and time commitment of the part, and also where she was in her personal life at the time, even flying around the country to do conventions or press on weekends. Its just such a remarkable story. No hired driver. Just astonishing.
