How to use the Auto Hold function in your BMW – BMW How-To

For BMWs with this button, Is the setting remembered between drives or do you need to enable it every time you jump into the car?

In my M235i, I don't have this button but I do have the functionality and it's always enabled.

Is it bad for my brakes to keep it on always? I drive on the city everyday with alot of traffic lights.

As a tow truck driver these systems are becoming worse amd worse with no manual overrides

As a car wash attendant, this feature is the bane of my existence, because it comes on by itself and no one ever knows how to turn it off. I found this video while Google-ing how to turn it off.

That being said, thank you very much for this video. It came in very useful today.

I'm disappointed the auto hold feature is not in the BMW 118 m sport manual. This is a must have feature for me.

My 2021 x2 thay i got for 42k doesn't have this feature but my 2018 civic that i got for 25k has it lol

The Auto hold isn't even available in the 218i. It's only available in automatic transmissions. I miss my old VW Passat to be honest. BMW in general has more new-fangled networking and app features, however, VW in general make the driving experience a lot more by incorporating features that are plain common sense and good driving habits.

I love this feature on my Volkswagen Golf R

We have a VW Tiguan, but auto hold works the same

Since passing my test in 1983, I’ve almost exclusively driven automatics and have never used the handbrake in any of them; I merely put the transmission in Park. Autos’ inherent idle speed “creep” means the vehicle is held on all but the steepest hills anyway so why do we suddenly need an Auto Hold function?

The mini has no development. It is always the same model. I can't see the appearance of developing like BMW. During the rover, it shows unusual vehicles with a classic feel and develops or keeps showing only two popular cars. I'm bored.
