Broadway style song: "I saw a flower! I saw a flower! I saw a flower in my 12 month old Strawberry plant." I will definitely be covering the fruit because the mice and animals in my gardens are fruit gnomes, stealing my shine.
ОтветитьCut it back even further, all the way back to the handle ❤
ОтветитьThank you🖤🖤🖤🖤💖
ОтветитьBPA'S😢
ОтветитьJust recycle use them for the next time do you want to grow more fruits and vegetables
ОтветитьDon't you need to drainage ?
Ответить💯👍recycling is the best
ОтветитьI'd be worried about microplastic and chemical leeching in the soil. these things are one use for a reason.
ОтветитьGlue two milk bottle caps together top-to-top. Pierce a small hole through both lids. Cut the bottom off a 1L bottle and screw the lids on. Screw the other end on your 3L potted bottle. Fill the upside down 1L and allow to drip-water the 3L
ОтветитьI've actually been using them the same way! 😂
ОтветитьA bit of an eye sore but nothing keeping you from painting/decorating them
ОтветитьThe milk here is sold in cardboard think so I can’t do that 😅 but it looks nice
ОтветитьI'm trying to get away from plastic, and I don't want it near my food. It leaches into everything including us. Girls are going into puberty much younger than normal and boys are developing 'breasts' from the plastics that emit estrogen. Just sayin' mate!
ОтветитьI do the same. Saving $$$
ОтветитьI prefer not to eat plastics, growing in plastic is asking for plastic in your foods
ОтветитьWhy not just reuse them? lol they not gone go bad it’s plastic! I’m sure you can get couple years of use out of them before they dry rot or tear up 💁🏻♂️
ОтветитьThe thing is I don't drink breast milk. I'll use my water bottles instead.
ОтветитьI USE 2LT COKE BOTTLES WITH BOTTOMS CUT OFF AS INDIVIDUAL HOT HOUSES. EASY TO STORE ONE IN ONE FOR NEXT SEASON. I DONT DRINK THE POISON THOUGH.
ОтветитьDid you know that all that plastic can be easily and cheaply turned into pure diesel fuel?
ОтветитьCool idea! I’d be worried about stuff leeching from the plastic into the soil and the food tho :/
ОтветитьLol in 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 we have our milk in bags. Maybe the cooking oil jugs then.
Ответитьbrilliant
ОтветитьI like your puns
ОтветитьPlastic leaches into soil ?
ОтветитьI like how they save space
ОтветитьI used too use the gallon ones. Will go back to doing it now that my county is ceasing to recycle anything starting June 1st.
ОтветитьOR - DON'T recycle them. If you have room, string the handles on a piece of rope, slip knot each end & hang from a nail/hook to reuse the next year!
ОтветитьPlease do not grow edibles in plastic. The plastic breaks down and leaches chemicals into the soil.
I really like this channel and Mark's tips, but this ain't it. Save yourself that work (and the cancer) and just recycle these immediately. The recycling companies are less likely to recycle these if they're not perfectly clean anyway, so...
I fucking love micro plastics
ОтветитьUSA gallons are square.I cut the entire top off leaving me a nice 8 in. tall,6 in wide pot. I don't put them in the recycling,I clean and reuse the next year so I don't have to cut and make drain holes again. same with 2 liter soda bottles. those are perfect for one lettuce in each or herbs.
Ответить😂😂😂😂 it is handy 😂😂😂 love that joke
ОтветитьI’m doing this with stuff from my work. Plastic wire spools. I have 15 and a full garden
ОтветитьWhy would you not just keep reusing them? They are good for 100 years!
ОтветитьLove the idea of hanging them all by the handle on a rod, to create vertical gardens! May just do that...
ОтветитьLove my foods with a healthy dose of microplastics
ОтветитьI tried this but my plants stayed tiny! Any advice?
ОтветитьMaking poorman or trash man pots 😂
ОтветитьFyi if they are not 100% clean they throw them away 😂
ОтветитьI banged the head off a drywall screw & put it in my drill, it makes the drainage holes real easy.. ;)
ОтветитьOr grow in them again. Until they start to break down then recycle them. 😬😔 or throw them away if recycling is not in your area. 😔
ОтветитьLooking at the comments here and just want to give a Huge thanks to @it's_jjk. for reminding me about microplastic, totally fogot about it . Basically plastic breaks down but it pollutes your soil, the plants , insects and you end up eating it. We have enough injestion of microplastics without putting it in our gardens and more food, plus insects will injest it so will birds etc . 👍
Ответитьhi.
how many holes to you put under the containers and how big?
thank you
Awesome idea! And great for an apartment patio too👍
Thank you!
Great idea. What potting mix do you use
ОтветитьGreat idea. I have started doing this and hanging them off a trellis im my small courtyard, making a grow wall. I do not have any garden I can dig because my grounds I share are all concreted or paved.
ОтветитьMy partner and I tried this!!! We grew carrots, rocket, dwarf beans and watermelon! All from seeds!! We've replanted the beans, carrots and half the watermelons, but left 2 watermelon plants in one of the milk bottles and its still doing amazing!!!!
ОтветитьI do an indoor guardian Danielle that's all I ever do and it pays off big a few bucks here a few bucks there nothing big you know indoor gardening should be the new thing
Ответитьeesh... anything but plastic
ОтветитьI’ve been using my bottles for frost protection of young seedlings with good success. This is another great tip!
ОтветитьGood initiative you have there. By the way, did I hear laibor or labor?
