So if the braking capacity of the car comes from the electric motor, what happens if the electric motor suddenly stops working? Is there any emergency electric battery that activates in the car if its in this situation?
ОтветитьThis would be SO much more exciting if it weren't for the authoritarian governments deciding what is best for us, rather than letting the market decide. Still a great video!
ОтветитьHow did I miss this when it came out?!? Season 9 was dope!
ОтветитьFormula E , needs a certain special part of the track to be ultra Wide and the Cars will need to super accelerate at 450 miles per hour and the road does a loop and because of the down force the car sticks to the tarmac while doing the loop-ty-loop but needs to be at a minimum of 450mph or more. Or. If the driver don't take the loop there's a side track but a little bit longer that meets back up to the main track. Just like Mario Cart. Also they could drive on a track that charges their battery a little bit with boost.
ОтветитьThe aggressive regen breaking system is already in my Chevy Bolt. I drive with one pedal. That pedal allows acceleration at various rates and breaking at various rates. It is fun and accurate.
ОтветитьIsn't it amazing that beautiful women get invited to events? Not a complaint, Merely an observation. A Waverly electric car from 1901 had re-gen braking, We haven't really moved on
ОтветитьWon’t happen.
ОтветитьFormula E is too video game. Would love to see a motor/electromechanical brake per wheel. A common body shell, battery, and max energy draw is fine, but should not limited energy use per motor or regen. Brake could be inboard - could have motor, reduction gear, brake, half shaft wheel. While inverter boards are expensive, they are light. it would be easy to have a control box of with a brain monitoring wheel rotation and forces relative to the road, and driver inputs, that then tells each inverter and electromechanical brake the action to take.
ОтветитьI’m a huge F1 fan, and I’ve been for 20 years and my humble opinion is that Formula E is shit. F1 has already become a bit of a “light” motorsport since the sound is off, not like in old times. I still watch F1 because it’s fast, strategic and requires the best driving skills. But Formula E? The only think cool about electric vehicles is how fast they can become, and the specs of Formula E are a joke. It’s like washing machines racing in a toys prefabricated small track.
ОтветитьCleo can you do one on Sebastian Vettels race without a trace program, I think that would an awesome alternative story as well :)
ОтветитьThe day F1 becomes fully electric is the day I think I will probably stop watching. The sound of race cars is a huge part of the experience and while I would not car if they use electric vehicles in the transport and setup of the races. As a nature lover, the impact of having 20 cars go around the track for 2 hours is negligible and I think greening motorsports should be done through means that don't negatively affect the experience.
ОтветитьTechnology is not moving on, its actually going backwards. In the early 1900s the majority of automobiles in the US were electric but that didn't last long due to electric automobiles being more expensive than gas powered automobiles and electric automobiles having a much shorter driving range than gas powered automobiles. Same problems exist today with electric vehicles.
ОтветитьI hope you do one about the Baja 1000. Will they make a Superbike E racing division now?
ОтветитьI know this may be an unpopular opinion, I think that electric vehicles are going to be a very short lived fad, or at least should be. The amount of copper, cobalt, and lithium needed are going to lead to ecological problems that no one is taking into consideration. Why is F1 going to hybrid, because it actually makes sense. Nearly all of the super cars out there are now hybrid because the torque and power out of an electric motor is superior to a gas engine, so the gas engine might as well act as a generator.
ОтветитьI think the quality of Formula e racing lacks compared to F1. There is a massive gap of skill between those two classes and that is the problem in Formula e. That is why many F1 fans think it is stupid because the drivers often seem like roockies. Because most of the drivers didn't participate in junior classes like F2 or F3 where they get prepared for racing on thight, small and narrow street circuits.
ОтветитьCleo has a phenomenal gift .. ! She can talk a looot whilst actually saying very little.. 😉
ОтветитьSo many horses die in horse racing. 2000 die per year on the race track. That does not count training, or if it is found dead in its stall. It’s not the 100k horses people see in the derby. It’s the lesser known horses that are barely make a 5k claimer
ОтветитьI mean, this sport is not to show us what the future car will look like. It's a racing sport... And electricity needs to be generated in some way, which is polluting too. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love both F1 and F-E, but I don't think the point of F1 is showing the future. It's showing how fast can humans, cars and humans in cars go (which yea, most of the time means to get the latest tech, but not just for the sake of it being new), and compete against each other, but even this is done with some restraints. F1 cars from years ago run more than nowadays cars, and that's because of security regulations and all that stuff. So yea... A lot of "buts" here. Not hating, though!! Also, I'm Spanish, I'm so glad you came!
Ответитьprogressive thinking there madam cleo
ОтветитьDunno, watch e-race... tried, can not get the sadness out of every corner, kid's karting is more interesting to watch. The future? Likely so. Attracting a audience in the future? Hmm, unlikely, heard the sound?! 🥵
Ответитьelectric cousin to F1 and Indy car
ОтветитьWTF is this video?
Ответитьofc california banned gas car sales.
ОтветитьI’m glad that 2 Indian companies are taking part in Formula E.
ОтветитьAll I see it's races that will be won by whom someone wants to.
And that can be decided at any moment of the race. All it takes is to reduce power in one car and increase it in another...
And what they are saying is that they only invented this to help convincing people to embarc on electric, like this video...
They say gas will be obsolete...
Gas will be only for the rich that will keep the pleasure of real motors.
Is there anybody that prefers the new electric Mustang over to Eleanor??
You should also make a video about endurance racing; they're much entertaining, and the cars were much more technologically advanced than these vacuum cleaners.
ОтветитьYou have heard of motogp they now have formula e bikes
ОтветитьYou’re enthusiastic approach is always awesome. Makes every video great!!
ОтветитьThey banned gas sales for (road legal) cars and since they rent tracks legally they can still do it
ОтветитьEven though, ICE cars will be banned in future, in my honest opinion the sports of ICE cars whether it’s F1 or NASCAR, it’ll still be existing.
ОтветитьMan, I hate electric cars
ОтветитьI am actually curious about Lithium ion battery fires (even in passenger cars) and If/how the FE teams are engineering around this issue.
ОтветитьSuper video... My son and I went to the Portland E-Prix and had an awesome time.
ОтветитьSuch a boring race to watch. I've watched 2 formula E races and both were boring and the gimmick of fan boost are not for me. F1 has the history and the drama as well as no bullshit like getting extra power by going around a certain corner that gives you a boost
Ответитьhhhhh
Ответитьf1 is boring…verstappen is winning all races
Ответить.
Ответитьelectric brakes is not new, similar system can be found in my 7 years old famly car
ОтветитьFans voting to give a boost of speed? Next comes the blue shell and then it’s all over
ОтветитьFormula e is just gay. The part of racing that is fun is the sound
ОтветитьI am literally smacking my head out of excitement at the tech these cars pack. Especially the battery recharge from braking. Whoooo!!! This is exciting.
ОтветитьFormula E is vacuum cleaners racing serie. Formula E is totally useless and ugly and meaningless.
ОтветитьHonestly formula E is pretty much just the electric version of f1 i mean like you have good racing good teams and something f1 did last year FE did this year making all the cars bassically the same except for the floor sidepods and the engine or in FE case the electric motor.
ОтветитьInstall mini guns and rocket launchers and you got a new fan of motor racing
ОтветитьI enjoy your passion for the subject. Constructively, I’d like to offer the following corrections.
• “Braking re-gen” has been in electric cars the public buys right from the start. It is not a new tech derived from Formula E.
• Agag’s suggestion that F1 is currently “50/50 internal combustion/electric” is in no way true, not even close! Excepting an initial charge at the beginning of the race that is good for far less than 1% of the car’s total race power, 99+% comes from the fuel. After that first lap, the cars operate as hybrids charging their own battery using braking re-gen and direct engine generation.
Next year’s rules are for a much stronger electric motor but the fundamentals remain. It’s virtually all fuel that powers an F1 car through the race.
sorry madam but I don't agree. future of your car. you probably haven't seen the initiative of f1 getting carbon neutral engines in 2026. also the fuel will be new/specially developed by porsche and other companies like shell. but this is a good video none the less
ОтветитьMotor sports is going to die when combustion engines die.
ОтветитьThose bans ain’t gonna last for shit can’t wait till it blows up in all those pos governments faces.
ОтветитьEvery creation of yours is fantastic, I truly enjoy every video - thank you!
